Philip J. Therrien's Online Review Report Card

I’m not typically a review writer, but seeing a couple negative reviews in a row, I felt compelled to review. My husband and I have recently just discussed how we actually feel lucky that Dr. Therrien kind of fell into our lap when we made an appointment at pediatric orthopedics when our pediatrician found a click in our daughter’s hip at 5 months old. We have been under Dr. Therrien’s care for 3 months now and are so thankful for his knowledge, experience, and expertise during this relatively stressful time. He knows everything about hips. You can tell he’s been doing this forever.I’ll admit…our first visit he wasn’t super warm and fuzzy. But that’s not his job. His job is to fix our daughter’s hip and he’s doing his job really well. He knows so much and he’s good with our 8 month old daughter. He doesn’t really sit and coddle me, which my neurotic first time mom brain would probably appreciate, but that’s not his job. He’s not my girl scout leader or therapist. I fully trust him with the care of my daughter’s hip and that is what matters. And to be honest, as time goes on and we see him more, he has actually gotten much warmer. I actually like him a lot.

Do. Not. Go. To. This. "Doctor." No bedside manners, my happy go lucky 3 years old was in tears within seconds as this "pediatric doctor" was very aggressive, grabbed his shoes and started removing his clothes without talking to him first, or at least asking for permission. I stopped him, and he left to go request an x-ray for my son, without asking me first if I even wanted an x-ray for my son 🤷🏻‍♀️ hello?!. We left the office. Also, the gown they gave me to change my son into was obviously not clean. Office wasnt clean. Just do yourself a favor; dont waste your time or money and go somewhere else.

Rough, very rough with an 18-month-old. Quick, impatient, not thorough. No bedside manor. Thrust a very stiff foot into flex and injured an ankle. Torn tendon, strained tendon? A once walking and running almost toddler now cannot even stand on his foot. Doc shows no interest in injury, just claiming his fame to how long he’s been in business. Baby also contracted coxsackie at office. Do. Not. Go. To. This. So. Called. Doctor. It's not safe! God help my baby!

We left while he was requesting an x- ray without first asking for my permission. Hello?!. Do yourself a favor; find somewhere else to go, you will be happy you did!

Rough, impatient, injured my baby so he can't stand or walk anymore.

If there was an option for zero stars that’s what they deserve. The office staff totally disregard my parental rights after being put on notice that I have full 50/50 custody of my children. Would not recommend!

Great doctor

My son was treated by Dr. Therrien for twenty years including multiple surgeries. Dr Therrien is an outstanding pediatric orthopedic surgeon especially for young patients with Cerebral Palsy. He is an extremely dedicated and compassionate physician. We were so very fortunate to have him as our surgeon. There are simply not enough stars in this review! We visited Dr. Therrien at the Children’s Specialized Clinic so wait times and office questions are difficult to fairly assess.

Dr. Therrien is one of my sons best doctors that we see. He knows what he is doing and what he is talking about. I would highly recommend him.

This doctor is a great parnter to have in your child's care.
