It has been 5 months sinceI had surgery to remove a cataract. The outcome was not what the dr. said it would be. He said the surgery went perfectly, yet, the multi focal lens was implanted 29 degrees off (according to another cataract surgeons. He is s fast-talking liar, not willing to be honest with his patient. (Record your conversations with him as he will tell you “I tell all my patients ….(untrue). I am haunted every day with the effects of incorrect placement and terrific halos around lights at night that I have that were NEVER explained to me prior to surgery. Get 2 or 3 opinions before you opt for this elective surgery. Don’t rely on this dr. to tell you everything before the surgery. I would give him less than one star if I could. Mistakes should be admitted if you adhere to a decent moral standard.

Dr. Desai is an extremely patient and knowledgeable doctor who takes the time to fully explain any surgery he performs while helping to calm any fears you may have regarding the surgery..he is most caring and answers any questions while sharing his wealth of experience..additionally, Dr Desai follows up quite diligently despite the demands on his time..we are all lucky to have Dr. Desai caring for us !...thanks to the entire Witlin staff as well for all their patience and efforts !

My husband, who is under 40, started to experience blurry vision in the left eye all of a sudden. He went to multiple doctors to figure out the cause. After several eye check ups, MRI scans and other tests, it was determined that he had glaucoma and he needed immediate attention. We were referred to Dr. Rajen Desai and going to him was one of the best decisions we ever took! Dr. Desai is not only a knowledgeable opthalmologist but also a very caring and compassionate person. He performed glaucoma surgery to the left eye and laser surgery to the right eye. He was with us throughout the process and explained every step carefully. He took time to answer all our questions. His constant attention and communication has been a great reassurance for us at every stage and our experience with him has been nothing short of excellent. Overall Dr. Desai handled our case very well. He is outstanding and I highly recommend him for advanced eye care!

He is a very compassionate, caring doctor. Gives you full attention with my concerns. He operated on my husband three years ago. I recently had my cataract removed and could not be more pleased. I would definitely recommend him to friends, family and others. He ALWAYS RETURN YOUR CALLS IF YOU HAVE CONCERNS. I would like to apologize for my past review. I had a very bad day and took out my frustration when I write my review. I would like to remove my negativity as I was totally unfair. Dr. desi is an OUTSTANDING DOCTOR VERY PROFESSIONAL AND WOULD NOT HAVE ANY OTHER DOCTOR. Thank you and again please accept my apology.

I recently underwent cataract cataract surgery surgery as well as a stent placementfor glaucoma. As a board certified internist cardiologist and registered pharmacist I'm in a good position to evaluate physicians.DrDesai was excellent. All was well explained and Dr Desai communicated via text. I was quite happy with the whole experience I would highly recommend Doctor Desai, and in particular very happy with the results . I have referred my own patients to him

I recently had cataract surgery with Dr. Desai at the Specialized Surgical Center in East Brunswick. The staff, nurses and technicians were both professional and helpful. The facility was modern, sterile, and had Covid precautions down to a science. After surgery, my vision is amazing! Colors are vibrant and beautiful! The post operative instructions are clear and after reviewing them a couple of times, I was able to follow them easily and place the eye drops without any difficulty. The follow up visit with an eye doctor was convenient and reassuring. My new lenses are perfect! Follow up contact from the doctor and Surgicenter was helpful. Seriously, I cannot believe how the cataract affected my vision. Colors in my world were dull and muted. Now, the sky is so blue, the grass is beautiful green, and the squirrels in my backyard are gray, not a dull brown! Thank you Dr. Desai for performing my cataract surgery and improving my vision and my experience in the world!

Dr. Rajen Desai is a top-notch ophthalmologist, trained at Northwestern University, with special interest in glaucoma & cataract surgery. He has done research and is very knowledgeable about state-of-the-art techniques and products, including novel lenses & stents. He took his time to explain the surgery and recovery expectations to my dad, who came to NJ for repair of his cataract and narrow-angle glaucoma. He is very happy with the outcome. I will certainly recommend Dr. Desai to anyone needing this type of expertise!!

Dr. Rajen Desai is excellent! He is extremely knowledgeable, component and courteous. He performed cataract surgery for my father and is currently treating his glaucoma. I am an optometrist myself and I could not be happier with care he provided to my dad. I was operated by Dr. Desai two months ago. I received excellent preoperative and postoperative treatment. I regained my vision and became an avid reader again after the surgery. What a gift this young Doctor gave me at the age of 84. Right from first appointment until full recovery, Dr. Desai answered all my concerns. I am admirer of this tenanted Doctor.
