List of Ruchi Agarwal Md's Reviews
When I was first deciding to get an STD test for the first time as a young sexually active adult, I thought I was doing the right thing by coming to this doctor. But goes to show not every doctor is well-informed. The CDC recommends not testing for certain STDs like herpes unless you have symptoms, because most of the population is asymptomatic, the emotional toll outweighs the actual virus, and the blood test has a false-positive rate. CDC states "The most commonly used test, HerpeSelect HSV-2 Elisa might be falsely positive at low index values (1.1–3.5). Such low values should be confirmed with another test such as Biokit or the Western Blot" I should've been given confirmatory testing. This doctor did not show much sympathy or resourceful help to assist me and this issue still takes an emotional toll on me. She should've told me this information and advised me what I was getting tested on. In addition her office was in some cramped basement-looking space and was not pleasant.
Dr. Agarwal was so pleasant and calming. Her bedside manner was all one could ask for. I was so relieved my insurance was in-network. It is so unfortunate that I am looking for another doctor and cannot refer my friends to her because there is no number at which to reach her. The number provided by my insurance company and the internet lead to another number's voicemail. It is 2019... what's the deal here? Incredibly frustrating.
I had a very positive experience every time I went to be checked up. The staff was nice and friendly. The doctor was professional when it came to testing me and making sure I was alright. I had an abnormal result that I feel she could have explained better. I still do not completely understand the results of my test and I remember feeling scared that I could have cancer. In addition to those things, a couple of months after my visit, she called me up and told me I was having trouble with my insurance. I was so taken aback by the way she was talking to me that I asked her a couple of times if I was in fact speaking with my doctor. She told me that they tried billing an insurance that I don't have and when I told her there must be some mistake, she insisted that she stay on the phone so she could ensure that she got her money. I practically had to beg her to let me call her back while I sorted it out. I was on the phone with the insurance company when she called again and demanded my policy number with that insurance company even though I did not have an active policy with them. I was on edge and all she cared about was getting paid. It was highly unorthodox because most doctors have a Billings department for that sort of thing. The manner in which she spoke to me was uncouth, unprofessional, unethical, and borderline abusive. I felt violated after she spoke to me and I have yet to receive an apology.
Dr. Agarwal could not have been more warm, reassuring AND thorough. She immediately put me at ease, took time to answer all of my questions and also respected my time with her efficiency.
Seems to have hired a new desk/office staff, which is much improved.

I have had only good experiences at Dr Agarwal’s office. I have been her patient for a little over a year now. I usually go to her New York office. The reason I only give 4 stars is because I usually have to wait a little while past my scheduled appt time.
Dr. Agarwal was incredible! She and her staff were very professional and kind. They never made me feel rushed or like I was a burden in any way. They went above and beyond to make sure I had a positive experience. They worked with me to help me understand what my insurance does and does not cover and made me feel confident about the decisions I was making. They use an efficient system for posting lab results and made me feel at ease in a stressful situation. This was my first visit and I can
I was very disappointed with my experience. The office was not especially clean, the receptionists were not polite. They did something weird with the paper work so that my insurance wouldn't cover it then I was billed for a number of optional tests that I did not authorize or ask for. When I called the office to discern why they had done the tests, the receptionists could not have been ruder, basically calling me stupid. Ended up being a very expensive way to rule her out as my Doctor.
I've liked her in the past. She made a big deal to contact me after being concerned about some test results and answered all my questions. I'm reading here and on ZocDoc that her receptionists are exceptionally rude and unprofessional. It's such a long theme over the years. Has she not seen these reviews? It's astonishing. Just making my appt was pretty stressful. Rude, impatient. Incredible, for something so simple as making an appt.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
