Jeffrey H Charen's Online Review Report Card

Second knee surgery with Dr. Charen (once per knee) in two and a half years. Outstanding doctor and staff at the surgical center. I was well taken care of. Questions were answered, and instructions clearly given. While the surgery was just recent, I have confidence that it will be as successful as the other one. I live an hour away from the office and for my family and me, it has always been worthwhile to come to see Dr. Charen for care.

The visit was very good as usual, attended to promptly, had a healthy discussion with Dr Charen, on X-ray results.

My grandma goes to him and she wanted me to leave this review. He's the most professional, experienced, caring doctor she's every been to. There's no one better than him.

Unfortunately I have to give the one star rating. THIS IS THE WORST DR I HAVE EVER MET IN MY LIFE. I took my mom in to see Jeffrey Charen as her hip has been bothering for some time and I wasn't particularly pleased with her current Ortho. Well, Jeffrey walked in looked at my mom and blared out, that there is NOTHING he could do for her. He advised he wouldn't even consider her for a hip replacement unless she lost 80lbs and that she would have to live with the pain. I was floored that all he could do is tell us what he could NOT do , but never did he take a step back to provide an alternative to relieve the pain and discomfort and basically said she has to deal with it. Completely, flabbergasted by the exchange, I advised him that I was very dissatisfied with his demeanor and that they took the copay and now will bill the insurance to basically refuse her medical treatment. At that point, he became even more irritated and shouted " You can have your money back" and I won't bill the insurance company . I refuse to call this guy a Dr. Hence, the reason I am referring to him as Jeffrey. I cannot fathom how someone who has been trained , licensed and supposed to be a professional who took an oath, could treat his patients this way. Needless to say, before we left his office my mom had her copayment refunded to her. Oh and by the way, I will be monitoring he claim activity to ensure a claim is not submitted for this blatant refusal to provide medical treatment to an overweight individual. Hoping I can file a complaint with the Board of Orthopeadic Surgery.

Office is well run, staff is friendly to patients. Drs are all top notch in their field. Dr. Charen was able to quickly diagnose my problem and gave me good advice for dealing with it.

DR. CHAREN WAS GREAT HE ASKED A LOT OF QUESTIONS AND DID A THOUROUGH EXAMINATION. HE ALSO ORERED A TEST TO DETERMINE THE RESULT OF HIS EXAM. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMEND DR. CHAREN TO ANY OTHER PATIENT

Dr. Charen has the perfect combination of straightforwardness and bedside manner. He listens and works with you.

Dr Charen has been taking care of my entire family for many years. He is thorough, caring, and takes his time to explain everything so that I fully understand my condition.

Visited office for lower back issue, staff was helpful and the appointment was on time. Dr. Charen performed a physical and explained his thought process for treatment. I was happy with the overall experience.
