She is a great doctor who takes her time to assess and explain everything in details! Very well knowledgeable and educated doctor!

Let me start off by saying that One Medical, as a whole, is a great health services provider and have many great physicians working for them. I am still happy with their overall service from using them these past few years.That being said, Dr. Patel is someone you should avoid. She is rude, unprofessional, and outright dismissive when it comes to your health concerns. When I saw her, she smugly suggested I could "get a second opinion" in regards to my health issue that she felt was not worth her time. Thankfully I did and I was able to get properly diagnosed and taken care of.Like I mentioned earlier, there are many great physicians employed with One Medical. Just do your research prior to setting up an appointment and find someone with better social skills.

Have seen a few doctors at One Medical over the years (they each relocated to other offices/states so I've had to adapt) and Dr. Patel is one of the best. She definitely knows her stuff and is a bit of a medical "nerd" which I can really appreciate as I think that indicates a passion for what she does. Recommended!

I could not be more disappointed with the experience provided by Dr. Patel. Her lack of professionalism and empathy not only made me feel helpless but also worsened my condition. I strongly advise against visiting with her.A couple of months ago I suffered from a sudden unbearable abdominal pain, I was taken to ED and diagnosed a kidney stone. I stayed at home for about a week with recurring abdominal pains and despite I never saw the stone pass, I started feeling ok again. At that point, I went to visit Dr. Patel (as my PCP) to check on my condition, like I had been advised by the emergency department a week ago - she told me that if I was already feeling ok, there was no need to do anything and I should go on with normal life; while I thought it was a bit strange that she would not care to do any type of follow up, I followed her advise. About a week after, I started feeling sick again, I was having some abdomen pains and feeling quite irritated so decided to visit her again. Her lack of empathy during that visit was unbelievable, despite being aware of the condition I had had ~2/3 weeks ago and the current symptoms I was describing - she told me that "having some abdomen pains at my young age (i'm 26) is usual and I should not be worried about it" - I still can't believe how careless she was. Given that I was almost crying when telling her that I didn't know what it was, but there was something wrong with me; she told me - "ok, I am going to ask for an abdominal ultrasound, but just so you don't get worried, because trust me, I've seen a lot of patients, and I believe there's nothing wrong with you"- she had barely looked at my abdomen, so I couldn't understand how she could be so sure there was nothing wrong. That same night after visiting her, I woke up during pre-dawn hours to an unbearable abdominal pain and ended up at the ED again. Thankfully, my condition was not too serious and I ended up fully recovering about two weeks after, however, I am deeply frustrated with her attitude and her lack of professionalism. This is the worse medical experience i've had.This was my first experience with One Medical and I was probably just very unlucky to be in her hands, as I have heard good things about One Medical. However, I did experience some insurance bureaucracy issues with them in order to get a referral for the specialist that ultimately solved my condition, so things didn't work as smoothly as I would have hoped for during such critical moments.

tldr; If you're with One Medical, go with a different doctor unless you want to leave feeling worse than when you came in. First, I'd like to make it clear that this one star review is solely for Dr. Patel and not One Medical. I recently renewed my One Medical membership to seek help on an ongoing issue I've been having with my finger nail. When I tried to explain my issue to Dr. Patel, she was incredibly dismissive and kept telling me that she didn't see anything wrong. I told her that I had been monitoring my nail for a few months and had done some research online and though it could be Onycholysis, though at the time, I couldn't remember the exact name of the disorder. From what I read, Onycholysis can be a symptom of a bigger issue and that was why I went in. Dr. Patel didn't do anything more than simply look at the nail, even after I told her that my nail bed seemed to be receding more and more.I've gone to One Medical before with what I believed to be lesser issues, and the doctors have always made some type of effort to diagnose the issue, even if it's looking it up an issue online with me. As I felt like she wasn't understanding how the issue with my nail wasn't normal (for one, it looks completely different from the corresponding finger nail on my other hand), I tried to explain everything to her again and was cut off with, "Dude, you've explained this to me already." I asked if there was anyone else I could talk to regarding this issue, as it was clear she wasn't going to do anything to help me and she told me no. You're part of a medical community and you're telling me there is no one else you can even refer me to?Since Dr. Patel was only making me feel stupid at this point for coming in at all - something a doctor or care provider should never do, I thanked her and got up to leave. I told the receptionist that I did not feel comfortable paying for this visit and she was sweet enough to follow-up with her manager about my issue. One Medical did there part to make me feel better about this visit, and asked her to follow-up with me on other doctors I could see. I did receive a note from Dr. Patel basically telling me that she again did not see anything wrong with my nail and that I should maybe see someone else. Awesome. It's a shame that Dr. Patel is now part of One Medical as her attitude and general lack of empathy are definitely not representative of the otherwise outstanding people there. This experience was what it took to force me out of Yelping hibernation.
