List of Ronald Arthur Lehman's Reviews
Dr. Lehman was excellent. I’d highly recommend him to others. Prior to the surgery, he was very clear and honest when describing my condition, what surgery he suggested, and any alternative solutions to surgery. He was very responsive and kept an open line of communication leading up to my surgery. The surgery was performed perfectly. After surgery, he immediately reached out to my wife to provide an update on how the surgery went. Then, once I woke up, he visited in the recovery room to provide me an update. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Lehman and trusted him from start to finish of the process.
I waited a long time to have surgery on my c-spine, after 20+ years of debilitating neck pain. As soon as I met with Dr. Lehman and his team, I felt complete confidence. My friends were more worried about me than I was worried about me! I had a multi-level anterior discectomy and fusion (C4-C7). I followed every instruction given to me by Dr. Lehman and his team, read and re-read my care packet, wore my hard collar faithfully for 6 weeks etc. I left the hospital after the surgery - no painkillers needed other than acetaminophen. They gave them to me, but I did not need them. Tomorrow is my 3 month anniversary, and I’m feeling pretty darn good! The care I received from the entire team at the Och Spine Center - doctors, nurses, physical therapist, etc- was superb. I think that with something as serious as spinal surgery, you need a great doctor like Dr. Lehman, but you also need, to the extent possible, to be an active participant in your care- knowing what to expect.
Mixed experience. Columbia is a teaching hospital. While Dr. Lehman may be a skilled surgeon, I was given no opportunity to assess his knowledge or skills. He had an unprofessional rude overbearing unpleasant spine fellow named Andrew Platt see me before he did. The fellow smugly lied to Lehman that there was nothing wrong with my spine despite imaging showing otherwise. Lehman took the fellow’s words for facts and gave me incorrect treatment that made my spine pai worse. Maybe had Lehman seen me without the trainee’s misdiagnosis I’d have gotten appropriate treatment plan.
Talk about typical surgeon losing interest once you’ve booked the surgery
From day one, the initial meeting, to the last day I needed to be a patient, the process went smoothly. Everyone listened to me, explained everything, and the best part, the surgery was successful
Masks dont work at all to stop covid. Not even a little bit. Requiring them anywhere is unscientific, illegal and useless. Great practice. Dr Lehman is a treasure
I was having ongoing back pain for many years but of course getting worse. I met with Dr Lehman possibly anticipating surgery; however, he was totally honest with me advising against this procedure. I appreciated their concern & the time & effort they put in to help me come to this conclusion. And they sent me in another much less severe direction and are still available for questions. Good people!!!
Dr. Lehman is truly a God sent. Before the surgery my sciatic leg pain was at a constant high level for over 6 months. Oh though I have had back pain and back herniations for well over 13 years I did not start to experience the persistent sciatic pain for over 6 months until recently, usually the pain would stick for several weeks and leave with physical therapy and medication, not this time around. The surgery went well and I was out the hospital the same day. Greatly appreciate what you have done for me and my family. 🙏
After experiencing pain in my right hip and groin, one year after a total hip replacement, I was convinced there was something mechanical causing the pain. The source of my pain was my lumbar spine. Dr. Geller, at Columbia Presbyterian, highly recommended Dr. Ronald Lehman. As soon as I met and spoke with Dr. Lehman, my 3 year journey of several orthopedic and spinal surgeons, came to an end. I knew, with confidence and trust, that Dr. Lehman was the spinal surgeon for me. Dr. Lehman spoke to me, not at me, answered my questions, and informed me about what my spine needed in order to function properly. I went into surgery knowing that l was in very capable and knowledgeable hands under Dr. Lehman’s care.
Saw Dr. Lehman for a consult. In the process of doing research for an upcoming Lumbar Fusion surgery. I have total confidence in Dr. Lehman, who explained the procedure in detail and answered my many questions. Will comment further, after the completion of my procedure.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
