List of Nilay Shah's Reviews
Let me start off by saying I rarely write reviews. I went to this office because I was having some weird symptoms. The office was clean and they took me fairly quickly. Dr shah took his time to speak with me for what seemed like a long time which was nice! He was getting a great history on me and really listening to my symptoms. When it came time to do the EMG … he literally took one little needle and stuck it into my arm and told me it was over and diagnosed me with “a pinched nerve”. I even asked him … “that’s it”? He was like yup that’s it. I was so taken back by this because I know EMGs require needles in very specific areas and forsure more than one. I left completely upset… he didn’t take me seriously at all probably because I was young. I went back and told another neurologist and had him transfer the notes. Dr shah LIED in his de notes that he completed the full exam and wrote about all the areas he conducted this test on which was nothing but a lie. This caused so many issues with insurance … and even the dr I went to said a pinched nerve didn’t even make sense with my symptoms. I even reported him for this it caused me mental anxiety as well as issues with insurance to ACTUALLY get the test done correctly. It’s hard to prove since he had “a witness” which was literally his employee who wouldn’t go against him obviously and loose his job. But I wouldn’t lie about this, I have no reason too! I will never forget this experience and have learned alot from it. So beware. Maybe he’s a great dr and he just was having an off day and didn’t feel like being through. Whatever it was, it was so wrong and really changed my view of drs / healthcare
I have been going to Dr. Shah for about a year. He is the most compassionate, intelligent and caring doctor. Diagnoses the ailment immediately and does not push for unnecessary treatment. He knows his profession. I cannot recommend him enough. He is a wonderful doctor who will fight for you to get better.
Dr Shah was great, listened to all my problems and informed me of lifestyle changes, very knowledgeable .I saw all the positive reviews online , and decided to see Dr Shah. and it was worth going to him , staff also very friendly, overall very happy with Dr Shah.as he is very friendly and answers all your questions .and I am feeling better after following his directions.
Excellent doctor that takes the time to listen to you and treat you as a whole person. I wish I had found Dr. Shah and his wonderful staff sooner. If you’re looking for a neurologist, I highly recommend Dr. Shah!!
Dr Shah is beyond amazing! Like words can’t describe!! Finding good doctors can be a true challenge but I found Dr Shah on Google, based on reviews, and took a chance. Definitely lives up to the reviews. Very thorough and he told me things that no other doctor had told me. I recommended him to my mother and would certainly recommend him to anyone reading this review. Also his offer staff rocks! They are all super sweet. Truly a pleasure to be a patient here.
I cannot say enough good things about my first visit to Dr. Shah’s Maywood office. The minute I walked in there was a zen vibe. Beautiful piano music playing and I was greeted w warm smiles from the lovely ladies at the front desk. I have a complicated history and Dr. Shah took the time to patiently go over everything in detail. I felt he was genuinely interested in getting a full picture with details so that he would have the most comprehensive understanding of my history and my needs going forward. He was very kind and thorough. His PA Mikala was in the room as well and she too was extremely pleasant and shared a genuine interest in my medical history. I have not been to a neurologist in many years and feel certain I made the right choice w Dr. Shah. Taking some new tests and getting a full , current look is our first step. He gave me a sample of one of the newer migraine medications to try as well. The wellness center he has opened offers a very calming vibe for what can often be a very stressful experience. He and his staff made this such a positive, non stressful experience. I highly recommend Dr. Shah.
I was referred to Dr. Shah and he’s truly a Blessing. He makes you feel heard, understood and even picks up on things you don’t realize are happening. He’s very thorough, kind and refreshing. I actually felt like I’m finally going to get the help I’ve been looking for. I see a light at the end of the tunnel after almost 4-years. Thank You Dr. Shah for a wonderful experience! Truly a top neurologist!
Had an appointment at 9:15am which I was on time for and waited patiently for 45+ minutes before giving up and having to leave to go to work. Made the appointment over a month ago. Avoid this office unless you don’t value your time.
I went to Dr. Shah recently to get some clarity on a potential nerve impingement and he and the staff were great. I had to schedule out 1 month but it was worth it- he listened to all my symptoms, conducted some tests to ensure we knew exactly what to do next. Definitely give him a call!
I have tried to make an appointment here for the past 2 weeks. Today I've given up. I have one line on hold for 18 minutes and the other line I called with for 7 minutes. These people are useless. If the people taking your phone calls and stting appointments are indicative of the wait time in the office don't waste your time. Complete rubbish with no respect for people

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
