Bad-tempered secretary/office assistant drove my family away from Dr. Bretan's practice after three weeks' experience. The secretary was verbally rude and actionably lazy, refusing to respond to requests from Dr. Bretan or external doctors to provide medical information vital for referrals ordered by Dr. Bretan. Additionally, she advised us to "schedule an appointment, or do nothing" about serious medication side effects Dr. Bretan told us to report to her office should they occur. Twice, I called Hunterdon Healthcare's human resources department to ask for assistance in discussing this secretary's conduct discreetly with Dr. Bretan's practice manager, but I had to leave voicemails both times, and never received a call back. Disappointing service all around - and dangerous from our experience. No secretary in a medical practice should have the power to tell a patient to "do nothing" about a medical dilemma.

Dr Bretan is a Great Doctor supported by a wonderful caring and savvy staff! After other doctors failed, she diagnosed I was having a serious muscle condition from a sudden thyroid disruption on her very first exam with me & saved my life! Over these many years she has always been available for my husband & I whenever we call. She’s a calm, no nonsense, common sense practitioner with heart, who follows up and checks in when needed. I feel very blessed to have found her & her staff.

I've been a patient of Dr Bretan for 10 years and can't say enough about her and her staff. Dr. Bretan takes the time need to make you feel comfortable and explains pros and cons. She is very knowledgeable and caring. Over the years, I've had a few medical issues and she ALWAYS takes time to explain, returns phone calls, and when necessary refer me to specialist that are top notch. l've recently moved to Florida and have been searching for a new doctor but so far none stack up to Dr Bretan!

I have been going to Dr. Bretan for years. I trust her opinion and she is always incredibly honest with me-- especially when I am just neurotic, I had a mole on my ankle that I was worried about; she said it was nothing but knew I would continue to worry, so she sent me to a dermatologist who confirmed her diagnosis. My husband had a spider bite and she gave him her cell number in case it got worse over the weekend.

Dr Bretan is my primary doctor and I think she is very thorough and professional

I don't go to the doctor often, only when I HAVE to. And Amy Bretan is the Worst doctor ever. She does not care about her patients. I have been to her twice now and never again. Once when she refused to give me antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection and now recently told me I didn't have Lymes disease "but she could be wrong." And she was very wrong.

I had a positive experience with Dr. Bretan. She took her time to get to know me and my medical history and was very thorough in her examination. I'm pleased that I've found a caring and experienced doctor in my community that I can trust.
