The team made me feel comfortable throughout my procedure.
Very positive experience and Dr. Goldstein's staff were wonderful. Thanks
I had a very positive experience with Dr. Goldstein, who is very easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable. The initial consultation was very thorough and the procedure went smoothly. I liked the entire staff at Hunterdon Gastroenterology. It means a lot to feel that the staff is friendly and caring.
She discharges patients who are vomiting in recovery area post-procedure without verifying they can tolerate food or fluids by mouth after a colonoscopy, doesn’t send them home with anti-nausea medication and causes a completely avoidable post-procedure ER visit. They require COVID testing to protect their staff, but don’t follow standard procedures to protect their patients.
My wife spent 5 days in the hospital after a banding procedure with this doctor. The doctor never even called to see how my wife was doing.
My visit was fine, the doctor is very nice. The high rating is for Dr. Goldstein herself and not her staff. As of this writing, I find her staff to be less than professional. I had to contact Aetna myself to find out what treatments would be approved by Aetna, and I did as soon as I could. (They called on a Friday and I had the information to the office on Monday.) I waited a week, called Aetna on Saturday. They had no record of the pre authorization request. I made it clear while I was at the doctor's office that timing was essential because the treatment is 3 months and I may lose my health insurance by the end of June. I'm waiting for something that Aetna said they could do within 24 hours of a phone call. Maybe Aetna is wrong, but I'm very upset right now and I can't call Dr. Goldstein's office on a Saturday to verify if they made the pre authorization or not.
I had my 2nd colonoscopy in 5 years with Dr. Goldstein yesterday and all I can say is that the experience was very different than my first one with her 5 years ago. She failed to sedate me adequately and I was in considerable pain throughout the entire procedure (which I was able to view on the display over my head, btw). Several times I told her that I was awake and in pain and she failed to respond. In the consult room afterwards I again remarked that the procedure was painful and I was awake throughout, to which she responded that some patients resist the sedation and don't go under and that I was talking alot. WHAT??? I am calling this morning to request a different doctor for my husband's procedure in November. I felt dismissed and that I really did not get a thorough exam. Thankfully the nurses were lovely but that is the only positive thing I can say.
Everyone was exceptionally nice. Dr. Goldstein was exceptional, passionate, caring and gave me plenty of time to ask questions. The staff was great assisting me and setting up a surgical appointment. They gave great direction and were very patient with me. I would definitely recommend her and Dr Devi Patel who did the procedure. They really put my mind at ease.
Thank you, Dr Goldstein!! My experience was wonderful except, of course, for the prep. Even that was not as harrowing as my first colonoscopy. Your expertise, the caring, the listening all decreased my considerable anxiety. The recovery was very quick. Thank you again, Doctor!
The Dr., nurses are very friendly and take care of me from begin to end. Although I was waiting little long , but the songs office made me peaceful. I am very thankful for Dr. Goldstein and nurses.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
