Deirdre C. Masterson's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Deirdre C. Masterton is the worst as far as bedside manners go. She showed no sympathy or care for the pain I was experiencing during a new IUD insertion procedure she was performing on me. I was screaming and crying during the entire procedure and not once did she stop or even offer to stop, she just kept going. I know it’s rare to experience that level of pain from getting an IUD but it happens to some people, Me being one of them. I was screaming so loud that another professional knocked on the door to see if everything was okay. I know I should’ve said something and asked her to stop or to give me a break but I was expecting her to and I was mainly hoping it was going to be quick so I just wanted to get it done with. When she was done inserting the IUD, I was crying and was having trouble breathing because I was having an anxiety attack. She didn’t apologize or say that she hopes I feel better, she didn’t say anything other than “so I’ll see you in a few weeks just to make sure the IUD is in the right location and everything is okay” and patted my knee and walked out. I stayed in the room for a good amount of time after that to compose myself and calm down. I was still in a lot of pain and As I was walking to my car, I threw up in the parking lot. If I wasn’t feeling so awful I would’ve voiced my frustrations to staff and now I really wish I did. Instead I just requested a new OBGYN and I’m happy with her. Wanted to post this review in case anyone had a similar experience and to know that you’re not the only one. Also for new patients who appreciate a respectful and caring healthcare provider and want sympathetic bedside manners, especially during different situations and in times of need… I do not recommend Dr. Masterton. I used to see Dr. Manisha Abeysinghe who is absolutely amazing and now I see Dr. Kara Goglia who I like so far, only seen her once.

He's a kind caring genius who works so well with patients. H made my frightened 88 year old mom and me feel so relaxed and secure. He should be knighted.

I know she has good reviews and that was the reason why we chose Dr. Masterson. She is soft-spoken and has great bed-side manners, but it ends there. I had one visit with her which went well. However she was not on top of the test results. The test results were delayed, prescribed antibiotic unnecessarily since the UTI diagnosis did not confirm by another doctor. Because of her negligence and delays I had to undergo invasive placenta biopsy to do genetic testing. I'll be seeing another OBGYN.

Oh, Dr. Masterson, you took care of me at a very vulnerable time in my life and I am forever grateful. It was actually 10 years ago, and the lessons you taught me about my slightly invasive melanoma are still ones I live by today: get it checked out, don't sit at home and worry. It's about doing whatever you need to do to get back to your life! That goes for any medical worry, not just melanoma. It's also about finding doctors who care and listen, and know their stuff. In my experience, the more compassionate and open a doctor is, the more they actually know. Dr. Masterson and Dr. Kaufman, who referred me to him, are the most compassionate, caring doctors I've ever met. I'm not sure how it is now, but 10 years ago, the office would call you with updates on the day of your appointment as to the actual timing of your appointment. Because Dr. Masterson takes his time with each patient, and books people in the same day if they are worried about something, his schedule is usually a few hours off. Relax, be flexible and know that when he sees you, you will have his full attention for as long as you need it. He is amazing!

This man is amazing. I honestly believe I am here to-day, 10 years later, due to his caring, dedicated and truthful manner .
