It is not very often that we need to rate a Doctor, however; in this case the service provided by Dr. Hong Chen an staff have failed miserably. With a scheduled call we are contacted saying we need to reschedule two days later as there computers are down. Rescheduled day, no call ? We called and were told we we are not on the call list. Unacceptable. A Presidential complaint will be escalated ...

This psychiatrist was too quick to hand out medication. Despite the obvious signs of a child being abused, she chose to diagnose that child with bipolar and dose her with a new antipsychotic drug every two weeks. I have heard reports that she shares patient information with other patients without consent. I cannot reccomend this psychiatrist.

Gave a diagnosis and then changed her diagnosis after being persuaded by the school. When I asked her office why, they refused to let me speak with her and I was unable to schedule an appt with her. They let me meet with another psychiatrist, but, in an interesting twist, that was my "second opinion" and that psychiatrist supported Hong Chen's bait and switch tactics. She is weak and unprofessional. Stay far, far away! You have been warned. Don't trust her.

Unprofessional. Changes diagnosis after appointment without an additional consultation because school system sways her (bc they don't want to pay for the services the child needs). Refused to speak to me both in person and on the phone. Refused to explain. Allowed me to make an appt with another psychiatrist in the group, but twisted that. The new dr had been pre-brainwashed to the school's opinion and would not even evaluate the situation open-mindedly.

I am very grateful to have been referred to Dr.Chen for my son. It far to rare to find a Doctor who cares enough to take their time and listens patiently to both the mother and child when deciding what is the best course of action for treatment. We have had a difficult time finding the right ADHD medication for my son and Dr.Chen is always quick to respond, listens to my concerns and does not have a problem making adjustments. Other Doctors have wanted to wait it out and see e if he would get use to medications that clearly were having a adverse or negative affect. Not Dr.Chen, she is understanding and compassionate and flexible.

Very understanding, and works hard to find the best solution to fix what is upsetting you. Very polite, and seems to take a general interest in her patients. High recommended.
