Dr. Alvarez was extremely kind and personable, unlike many other doctors I have seen in the Hunterdon Healthcare system. He was extremely compassionate, had amazing bedside manner, and explained my procedure (a hemorrhoid removal) in a way that made me feel comfortable and not embarrassed. Dr. Alvarez made sure I was comfortable post op and throughly answered the few aftercare questions that I had. The surgery itself was a breeze compared to what I’ve read online and I definitely chalk that up to this doctor’s expertise. If you are looking for a colorectal surgeon, I cannot recommend this doctor enough. He is a true gem! Thanks again, Dr! ⚓❤️

This doctor said to my 80 year old mother who has had gastrointestinal issues almost her entire life that all is fine as long as she doesn’t get backed up. Ever since this stupid statement my mother has extreme anxiety if she doesn’t have an adequate bowel movement which results in hours of vomiting. He should know better and be more careful when talking to an elderly patient. This happened years ago when he had a brief (I wonder why) stint at York Hospital in Maine. We are now dealing with this anxiety and my mother suffers because of this awful doctor.
