Todd W. Flannery's Online Review Report Card

Today is a very happy and emotional day for me and my family. Almost three months ago I was told I needed to begin radiation treatment for prostate cancer. My daughter made an appointment with the Cancer Center at St. Mary Medical Center. It was a scary time but I must say from the minute I walked into the center and met the TEAM and Dr. Flannery, I was completely at ease. The second you walk in the door you are greeted by a friendly smile by everyone there – receptionist, nurses, technicians and physicians. My treatment plan was 44 radiation treatments, Monday-Friday for 9 weeks. What seemed like a time consuming plan was definitely not. The team works like a well oil machine. They are timely, efficient and most of all caring and compassionate. No waiting around, you are in and out and on with your day. I must express my utmost gratitude in my physician, Dr. Flannery. He was so attentive and listened to my fears about this cancer. He provided me the best treatment plan and consulted with all of my physicians – urologist, PCP and cardiologist – so I could have the best treatment and outcome for ME. He took the time to call and check upon me as I began this journey. He was compassionate and always willing to explain every step, answer questions from myself and my family. He explained things in terms me and my family could understand. It is treatment 44 and a bittersweet day. I have made new friends on this journey and have always felt comfortable and cared for by everyone. Cancer is a nasty disease but Dr. Flannery and the team and St. Mary Cancer Center make it a positive experience. Thank you seems too minimal for my gratitude and appreciation I feel today! Today I am surrounded by my family, friends and care team as I ring the bell to signify the completion of my treatment and it is the greatest feeling in the world!

Dr. Flannery always demonstrates total compassion. He answers all questions and consistently provides accurate information.

Dr. Flannery is extremely competent and caring. His diagnosis on my prostate cancer was spot on and the meetings with him were very informative. His positive attitude was very reassuring and gave me much needed relief during this very difficult time. The entire staff was very professional and attentive. I was so grateful that I provided lunch for the staff on the last day of my treatment.

There is nothing pleasant about a cancer diagnosis. When I chose Dr. Flannery to assist me in treatment decisions about my particular cancer, I truly had very little prior knowledge about the options available to me. It soon became apparent to my family and I that we couldn't have made a better choice than Dr. Todd W. Flannery. His extreme caring and attention to the patients' needs became apparent the very first time that we met with him. His vast experience and knowledge of how we were to treat my cancer gave me such a reassuring feeling at a time when that was exactly what was needed. I entered the radiation treatment phase of my journey with the confidence that I was the lucky recipient of personal care from a true professional who knew how to deal with my case. During our weekly meetings, during 44 days of treatment, Dr. Flannery met with us to explain all possible side effects and how to deal with them. He always kept my quality of life first and foremost. I firmly recommend Dr. Todd W. Flannery to anyone faced with having to make a choice for a Radiation Oncologist. He is absolutely the "Best of the Best!

Dr. Flannery is not only brilliant, he has an excellent bedside manner. That is a rare find to have both. He treated me with such care and respect as if I were his only patient in the office. In my unfortunate situation, I sure do feel fortunate to have met him and his team. Thank you! C.W.

Dr. Flannery and his excellent staff got me through my treatment for my Stage 4 tonsil cancer. Excellent coordination with my other doctors. I am clear now and can look forward to getting back to my life thanks to him.
