I read the other reviews here, and decided to see him anyway. I don't understand the prior low ratings. In my case, he was very informative, seemed to be highly skilled, and entirely trustworthy. I have no complaints at all about the way my treatment was handled.

My initial visit lasted mere moments - the doctor spoke very little and appeared to be 'not listening' to me. I am STILL waiting for test results - the office staff processes insurance forms but does little else - I cannot recommend this physician and/or his staff.

I recently took my son to this doctor for an ongoing condition. His conclusion was that a course of antibiotics was needed. I explained that he is the 3rd doctor to just prescribe antibiotics and I was concerned with this much antibiotic- when it clearly isn’t working . He response was if you don’t like what I have to say you can go see another doctor. I explained I was not trying to be rude but rather understand what was goin on. I then asked him if in a couple days the antibiotic was not working should we come back- his response- I would just go to another doctor. Bottom line this doctor does not care what you have to say as a patient or a patient advocate. If you ask questions you are insulting him. I would not recommend anyone to see this doctor.

Sorry to say not a very good experience with Dr. Lai. Selected Hunterdon group at the suggestion of my Primary Dr because of very high PSA level. Was assigned Dr. Lai who mentioned that an MRI would be beneficial and suggested having one but that my insurance WOULD NOT approve it. He suggested I could pay $975 ("a special deal") to have one without insurance and trying to get an insurance approval would result in a denial. I didn't feel comfortable with my visit with Dr. Lai especially since the visit started with him scolding for not having my mask fully coving my nose. Also that he seemed ok with going straight to a biopsy without the MRI. I learned today the biopsy was already scheduled. I seek'd out another Urologist in the RWJ Urology group. Glad I did. Saw a doctor that I was immediately comfortable with who explained all options and strongly suggested the need for an MRI and why and that my insurance coverage for it is certain. We had the insurance approval in 1 hour.

Plain and simple he misdiagnosed my condition. Didn't seem to spend much time and explain things. Felt rushed.
