Alexander Abkin's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Abkin is one of the best weight loss surgeons in New Jersey. In addition to his surgical skills, he has wonderful bedside manner and treats every patient with respect and dignity. His practice has always gone out of their way to ensure they provide best care to their patients. I appreciate everything he and his practice have done for my family over the past 20 years. Thank you Dr. Abkin!

I had my first appointment with Dr Abkin back in March of 2018 for VSG Surgery consultation. He was so friendly and explained each procedure thoroughly. I never felt forced or not heard with Dr Abkin which really made me feel very comfortable with going forward with the surgery.. Because I was traveling from Ny to NJ for him his office was super helpful with making appointment for me to accommodate my traveling. In august of 2022 I had to get a revision to bypass due to reflux, NO FAULT OF DR ABKIN!! I went to him and told him about my reflux and again he explained in detail what was happening and how bypass will stop it but it’ was my choice to make. Well a year later and I’m reflux free and still losing weight and extremely happy with all my services from DR Abkin and his staff! I have referred him several times to my friends and co workers and will keep referring him!! Thank you Dr Abkin and staff for being amazing at what you do and making a scared girl fearless through her journey!!

WORST PLACE!!!! PLEASE DON'T GO TO THIS PLACEEEEE!!!! THEY DO THE SURGERY AND THAT'S ALL... NO A SINGLE CALL AFTER THE SURGERY, NO FOLLOW UP WITH NOTHING. I HAVE A STRONG PAIN IN MY ADOMEN WENT TO THE PLACE AFTER 6 MONTHS AND THEY DON'T HAVE NO ONE TO SEE ME WOWWW. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE. PLEASE GO TO A PLACE THAT THEY TREAT YOU WITH RESPECT AND NO LIKE A NUMBER.

Dr Abkin and staff are the best. The staff walked me threw to whole procedure. They were always there to answer any question. Dr. Abkin is top of his field. I had surgery March 1,2021 during the middle of the Covid pandemic. He did such a great job I was able to go home 3 hrs after surgery. When I showed up to see Dr Abkin I was 348lbs 5’9 he walked me threw both procedures, we discussed my severe heartburn and which procedure was best for me. I chose the sleeve. Best choice of my life. I lost 170lbs yes I still have heartburn but I’m under dr’s care for it. If you’re thinking for having weight loss surgery Dr. Abkin you’re the best of the best.

Without question, the best experience that helped me reclaim my life. It begins with an absolutely stellar support group Drs Abkin & Jawed have assembled. All kind-hearted and supportive office staff, nurses, nutritionists. Next comes the professionalism and experience of both doctors. Most of my experience was with Dr Abkin. I simply cannot say enough good things. He answered every question thoroughly, had the best bed-side manner, and his massive amount of experience doing these surgeries allows for such comfort during the entire process. Even the nurses at St. Clare’s in Dover were absolute fans of both doctors because of their expertise and how they treated others. I had the gastric sleeve done. It is not an easy surgery. I did underestimate the recovery time. I thought I would bounce back, but this is a major adjustment for your body. I am one year post-op. I would do it all over again….wouldn’t change one single thing. My guess is, many patients of Dr Abkin should say this….because he gives you ALL of the tools (pre- and post- surgery). It’s up to you to use them. If you follow everything to the letter….you will have the same experience I did. I will always be so thankful to my Endo who suggested Dr Abkin, and of course, Dr Abkin for his skill, experience and kindness. I am looking forward to closing in on my goal within the next year and looking to Dr Jawed for cosmetic support.

I started my initial weight-loss journey with Dr. Abkin in the summer of 2023 with a lap band. After about 10 years I knew something was wrong and went back into see that Dr. Abkin he listen to my concerns and explain the best option for me. With that being said, I decided to go forth and have lap band to sleep conversion surgery. The whole process was easy and painless. I knew I made the right choice and I 100% trust Dr. Atkin and his decision. I even asked him to take a picture of my lap band and he did! Dr. Abkin is one of the best doctors out there and if anyone has the opportunity to work with him, you won’t regret it.

Worst so-called medical professionals that I have ever been too. Nearly killed me and didn’t even care. Do NOT go to this office you will regret it.

Had an amazing experience from start to finish. Dr.Abkin was excellent and made me feel comfortable with doing my procedure. He gave me all the information that I needed answered all the questions that I had, and was very attentive. All of the staff were amazing. I have never had such a great experience at a doctors office and feel more comfortable than I did. I am very happy with the decision I made, and the doctor I decided to go with 10/10 would definitely recommend

I had my surgery 3/22/21 it was the best decision I have made. I work in Healthcare and patients who I have taken care of for years now ask me where the girl that used to work here did she quit? I love to tell them no it's me I'm the girl. Besides looking great I feel great! Dr Abkin and staff are wonderful. I wish I did it sooner.

I started my weight loss surgery process with Dr. Jawed in the Summer of 2021, after he was highly recommended by a friend. My start weight was 324 lbs. My surgery was 10/11/21, and today 1/19/2022, I am down 69 pounds in just 3 months! The entire office staff at Advanced Laparoscopic is helpful and kind. Dr. Jawed explains everything thoroughly throughout the entire process and provides helpful feedback at follow up appointments. I highly recommend working with him!
