List of Eric A Wininger's Reviews
Dr. Wininger is a great doctor but his staff is not pleasant and the office is horrible about returning calls. I would recommend going to another Endocrinologist.
I have been a patient of Dr. Wininger for many years. When I was only five minutes late for an appointment on a Friday afternoon, I arrived to find that the doctor left for the day. The receptionist explained that Dr. Wininger doesn't like tardiness. Since I was his last appointment of the day, he left!!! What about all the times I waited for him when he was running late?!?! I'd never experienced such unprofessional, rude treatment. I'm a diabetic with thyroid disease. When I called the office and asked to speak with Dr. Wininger, I repeatedly got called by an office staff member. I explained that I didn't want to speak with them. It was the doctor, AND ONLY THE DOCTOR WITH WHOM I CARED TO SPEAK!!! The extremely rude nurse told me that my recent blood work revealed an issue with my thyroid and my medication would have to be adjusted. Wonderful Dr. Wininger still saw no reason to get on the phone!!! People, DO NOT GO TO DR. WININGER!!! YOU DESERVE BETTER CARE!!! YOU SHOULD BE TREATED WITH RESPECT!!! PATIENT BEWARE!!! Please note that I had to give 1 star for each category, because you aren't permitted to give 0 stars.
For years I have been seeing Dr. Wininger , since Covid I have had tele visits, I had my last scheduled months ago for November 9, he never called . I left four messages and after 6 days finally got a call back and was told he no longer did tele visits. No call to tell me ahead and I have had the appointment for months. Now I have to find a new doctor!
Wonderful...my first time as a patient and Dr. Winiger took his time going over my blood work and addressing my concerns. His staff was friendly and they called me back immediately with my ultrasound results.
Dr. Wininger and his staff are outstanding, especially during COVID-19. Even though there are no office visits, his phone appointments are just the same. I am able to go over my medical status and medications, with him able to provide detailed recommendations. Very fortunate to have him and his staff. Highly recommend them.
Staff is extremely rude and so is dr. Winniger. God forbid u disagree with his opinion on treatment or diagnosis. He and staff will scream and belittle you. They will also reprimand you for seeking a second opinion. They all need to learn some manners and respect for the people paying them for their services. Really sad state of affairs over at that office.
While he's OK, if not having a lot of personality, his office staff is awful. They are rude, unfriendly and unhelpful. Because he is not a participant in the AARP Medicare Advantage plan, I have to shell out nearly $400 a year out of pocket for 5 minute consultations. But they refuse to spend 55 cents to mail me a new script for blood work. I'm expected to make a 90 minute round trip to their office to pick it up. Making an appointment within a reasonable time is impossible. They very often don't return phone calls. My pharmacy called them twice in the past week with them returning either call. I'm finally fed up and am switching to a hopefully better practice. Dr. Wininger needs to understand that a medical practice is only as good as its front office staff.
Dr. Wininger is himself not a bad guy, although kind of odd in his mannerisms. But after going to him for a few years I'm switching to another endocrinologist. I've finally had it with his unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Not to mention the fact that he does not accept AARP Medicare Advantage. I've been paying almost $400.00 year out of pocket for 5 minute consultations but they refuse to spend 50 cents to mail me a new script for blood work. I don't need the aggravation.
“Dr. Wininger is a good doctor. Unfortunately I had to leave a couple of years ago because of his staff. Dr Wininger deserved better that an "office manager" that seemed intent on destroying his practice.”
Great office and staff. Never a wait. Office always runs on time.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
