Carissa Meyer's Online Review Report Card

I donlt see why some patients like this doctor; after examining my hand she said that I needed to go to therapy 2 times a week for 6 weeks (@ $25 a visit). My hand gives me excruciating pain everyday. I can't hold a cup while pouring coffee in OR twist and turn it without discomfort. The back of my hand had grown a soft lump the size of an egg cut length wise and my wrist still has a pea size bump. She must have saved her good skills for certain patients - but certainly not this person. I want to file a complaint with the medical board and with my insurance company, but I'm sure that both agencies will tell me that I should have looked at her reviews first. One thing is certain; I will not reccommend her to anyone.

Dr. Meyer was very pleasant, explained what she thought was going on and gave me different options for treatment. She involved me in my own care and did not push me to have surgery or do anything invasive. Will continue to see her.

I went to see Dr.Meyer for my carpal tunnel syndrome. She prescribed me braces first that they sold me at $125 each ($40 per brace online, I checked later. I was rushed to see the brace specialist and I honestly thought they were the ones doctors use and could not be found at drugstores so I went for it and bought from them) I went back for a check up a month later. On both appointments, she was VERY pushy for me to have surgery without me getting the EMG test done. I then went to see 2 more doctors to make sure the diagnose is correct. Both doctors requested the EMG test immediately. I got the test done, my syndrome came out to be mild and I do NOT need surgery on both hands. I'm glad I did some research and got 2 more opinions. Otherwise I would have had the surgery by now for nothing. I am EXTREMELY disappointed. Also, she got very defensive when I kept asking her what else I could do to avoid the surgery. I do not recommend her to anyone.

Very surprised to read such great reviews after the experience I had with Dr. Meyer. Absolutely no bedside manner. She entered the room, without introducing herself, and before checking the patient she questioned why they came in to begin with. The direct quote was “I’m probably just going to tell you to ice and rest”. She minimized the patient’s pain and after seeing the x-rays she had to backtrack.

Dr. Meyer is awesome she gave me the use of my hand back no more pain thank god.??

Beyond Fantastic, She is very thorough, empathetic, answers evry question even if it is repetitive. Not pushy with surgery which is a plus. Responds to messages quickly. Treats you as a person not just a nobody. "HANDS" up the best doctor Ive seen.
