I have been going to Dr. Minano for a few years now. I have had stomach issues and abdominal pain like no other I have ever experienced. Test after test came back normal and Dr. Minano assumed it was all in my head. I suggested that maybe the issue was gynecological, such as endometriosis, and that maybe I should see another specialist. She said, “I don’t think that is necessary at this point.” Mind you - it had been years at this point and I had cried in her office multiple times. I had a history of OB/GYN issues and bladder issues. All signs of endometriosis that had progressed to my GI tract now. Colonoscopy - no abnormalities. Endoscopy - no abnormalities. Cat-scan - no abnormalities. 3 stool samples and 7 blood tests - no abnormalities. Her respond every visit was, “I think you need to practice mindfulness and just breathe through the pain.” One time she said, “I think it might just be you because I feel like if it were me or my staff, the pain wouldn’t feel this bad.” She also checked with me every visit before we began speaking to ensure my “insurance was still good.” I decided to finally follow my gut and see a new specialist. I got diagnosed with endometriosis - I had 10 out of the 12 symptoms needed for diagnosis. I cried so hard in the specialist’s office. FINALLY! I got an answer. It is clear to me that Dr. Minano is in this for the money. I am so hurt because I was in pain for years. Finally there is a course of treatment suggested other than making the patient feel crazy.

Disappointing doctor.

Disappointed with my visit after waiting for 2 weeks to see this doctor. Dry as a wood. Very cold doctor.

Initial consultation was great. Went over my symptoms and we agreed to do a colonoscopy and endoscopy. After procedure she said she would call me in a week. After calling her office her staff said that she noted that everything was great, removed two polps and see you in 10 years.!!!!!! I told the office to have her call me. When she finally did(left 2 messages) she was rumbling threw my records when she asked what my symptoms were. She basically did not look at my records before she did the procedures. In fact my new GI doctor stated that as well. She never touched on the area where my pain is. DO NOT USE. I spent a fortune in medical bills and go NO WHERE with her

The doctor is fine. I just had an endoscopy. I find it less than optimal to have to see my test results through the Summit Medical Group portal. What was wrong with old way - phoning people with good/bad news? I am computer savvy, but what if I was 99 years old? It is an unfair burden to the medical consumer.

The staff in her West Orange office is completely incompetent. To spell my name alone took a full two minutes, and that was with using mnemonic devices! The cherry on top was when someone from her staff insisted the doctor did not know what side effects would happen with my antibiotics (penicillin). Instead of assuming the doctor, who is a DOCTOR, does not know the side effects of antibiotics (which anyway is listed by drug companies) and not stating that she will have the doctor get back to me is unprofessional, shocking, and confusing. The staff will make you run the other direction, no matter how much you may like the doctor. The doctor herself is above average, but tends to be vauge when discussing your situation. I am not sure why she chooses this approach. I do not think she lacks any knowledge whatsoever. However, this approach gives off that feeling.
