Terrible!!! After going to Dr Silbert for over 30 years I mentioned to him that I was not seeing well driving at night. He said that it is age related. That didnt sound right and 6 months later I went to another ophthalmologist who sent me to a cornea specialist THAT DAY for corneal nodules. I also had bad cataracts. Dr Silbert NEVER mentioned the nodules or the advanced cataracts in both eyes over 30 years???? TERRIBLE DOCTOR!

Dr. silvery is knowledgeable, conservative, on top of the latest developments (he teaches once a week in a major NYC hospital), always on target with a diagnosis, and kind and reassuring. He spends time explaining things and is aware of the patient’s entire condition. I cannot believe that he got a prescription wrong. In my experience, that happens where the glasses are made.

I went to Dr. Silbert for many years. He casually mentioned I had drusen and recommended I take Lutein. He is laid back and soft spoken so I did not think it was urgent or a problem. I continued seeing him every 2 yrs until a friend said she had Macular Degeneration and was diagnosed because of drusen. I asked Dr. S about this and he said I might have AMD! He never said I should see a retina spec. or have testing done. I quit going to him and was diagnosed as Stage 3 AMD! I am sick over this.

I asked how it was diagnosed and she said her eye doc noticed drusen and sent her to a Retina Specialist for testing. I was alarmed and asked Dr. Silbert about it and he seemed so casual about the whole thing and did not think it was anything to worry about. He had a wait and see attitude. Needless to say, I quit going to him and found a Retina Spec. They did testing and discovered I was already at Stage 3! I was told Dr. Silbert should have referred me to a specialist immediately. It can't be cured but the progression of the disease would have been slowed down. If you have any serious eye problems, please think twice before going to Dr. Silbert. I am sick and heartbroken to think I might lose my vision because of his lapse of judgement.

Then I went back, he changed the prescription and again ti was not good, then I end up paying again for new lenses because the optician couldn't return them to my insurance twice. Plus this Doctor took the right by his own to charge me and the insurance company again, even though it was his mistake. Disaster of a Doctor.
