Best Neurologist in the Eastern Region
I have been a patient of dr shukla for a few years now. I see him at his hamilton and pennington nj offices. I always find him to be very thorough with his examinations. he listens to and answers all questions asked of him. he is very knowledgeable in the medical field of neurology. he has an excellent bedside manner. his medical staff is very pleasant and helpful.
Not necessarily for the doctor himself, but I have had the absolute worst experience at the office with messing up my prescription repeatedly as well as not even attempting to be accommodating when the mix up was on their end. You would think dealing with people who are stroke patients that they would be a little more catering in the sense of NOT adding to our already insane level of stress. Not to mention, their automated phone system has sent me around in circles at least 10 times since being a patient there. Extremely difficult to speak to someone over the phone and if you have to try and speak to a nurse they send you to a prescription line to leave a message. I literally had to drive to get someone face to face to speak to them and my issue is still not resolved. Very disappointing & STRESSFUL!
After dealing with various levels of headaches every day for several years, I finally sought medical help. My primary care physician recommended Dr Chirag and I stayed with him even after moving to Florida in 2011. I found him to be very caring. With a family history of heart related issues and doctors sometimes pandering to the pharmaceutical representatives who bombard them with samples and promises, I was impressed that he explored the use of alternative vitamins and medications before deciding which prescription migraine medicine to use. It was a long process of trial and elimination, but Dr Chirag helped to give me my life back.
Dr Shukla is very caring and clear speaking. He always makes sure I understand the medical terms. Very friendly group of people at the Hamilton office. I would recommend their services to everyone.
We met dr shukla and he reviewed a previous brain scan and ordered a new one. He was not personable to my child. He seemed disinterested. My child was aging off our insurance and he plus his office staff knew that. Because of their delays and failure to return phone messages - we ended up never seeing Dr Shukla nor did he or his office assistant follow up. I spoke with his office manager and she said she would follow up with me and it has been over 23 days. There was no attempt after my conversation with the office manager to discuss the results in detail on such a sensitive test. So my child was left hanging especially when we requested at least a phone call.
Do not make an appointment with this doctor. I was told in early January that the earliest appointment was in March. I made the appointment and I received a call a week prior canceling the appointment by his office w/ no reason other than "he's not available"... the next available appointment wasn't until may 26th !! Have we arrived @ socialized medicine now. We are just expected to wait and wait and then just wait some more and no canceling reason even needs to be given. In order to post this I have to check the box agreeing to their policies and That I've received treatment from this doctor but that's the whole point of the review, I was unable to get an appointment in less than half a year !!! Zero stars isn't available
I never even got to see the doctor because the scheduling was so terrible. I made an appointment three months in advance then sometime later was told my appointment moved from the office to the hospital, which was inconvenient but fine. Only, then a few weeks later I received a call to schedule when I had previously been told I was already scheduled for the hospital location. Now I have to wait another three months because it seems they forgot to actually schedule me, which is ridiculous. I will likely just cancel and see someone else. The doctor could be good but I have no idea because the staff is not and I'm not willing to literally wait half a year to wait and see a dr.

I saw this doctor for less than one minute before he told me he couldn’t help me. All he did was spout some acronyms. He did not spend any time learning about my condition in that one minute. He could have looked at the referral to see why I was coming and told me that he wouldn’t treat me (btw the treatment was one recommended by the Cleveland Clinic but this guy was too egotistical to even try to learn what they recommended and why). Waste of time and not a caring doctor

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
