List of Mark J. Burstein's Reviews
Trash business. Makes you wait for 2 months for an appointment.
I saw Dr. Burstein ten years ago for sinus issues. He did a bilateral endoscope in the office and said I had a nasal polyp right side and recommended surgery to open up both sinuses. After the surgery, I developed severe facial swelling and facial nerve pain. I called the office and asked to be seen several days after the surgery. My concerns, facial swelling and facial nerve pain were dismissed by the staff. Dr. Burstein took no responsibility and cavalierly said he hoped he hadn’t been too rough on me during the surgery. A different ENT doctor performed bilateral endoscopes later and said there was no evidence of any sinus surgery done on left side. Dr. Burstein billed my insurance co. for bilateral Maxillary Antrostomies and never did half the surgery he billed for.
I have Ménière’s disease and was experiencing some very worrisome symptoms. We heard about Dr. Burstein and made an appointment. Our son is an ENT in North Jersey, so we are very cautious about a doctor’s capabilities. We cannot say enough praise for Dr. Burstein’s kindness and expertise. He’s attentive and a real gentleman, not an alarmist but very forthright in explanations. We’ve recommended him several times now, and everyone we’ve referred to his office has been impressed. This is a doctor with old fashioned values and a young well trained mind.
I saw Dr. Burstein for a problem that resulted in having a tube placed in one ear. He seemed very thorough and cautious in his approach. Unfortunately, after feeling pain in the ear, Dr. Burstein extracted the tube and left a huge hole in my eardrum. Four surgeries later (different doctor), the hole is repaired, but hearing is impaired. The office management is atrocious. I've waited close to 2 hours to see this doctor, and never less than 1 hour. I had brought this to Dr. Burstein's attention, yet it had no impact.
I hate to pile on but . My Dr I liked the office, follow up and communication is terrible. No one ever ever ever calls you to follow up. Better off doing it yourself.
Dr. Mark took the time to listen to me describe my problem and made me feel empowered by giving me the options and his opinion but letting me choose. He made sure all questions were answered before I left. He is the best ENT, would highly recommend!
He has amazing bedside manner! Takes time to explain and answer all questions for you. He is a kind man and wants what is best for you. Great practice, expect a little bit of a wait since he's thorough.
Once seen by Dr Burstein, the experience is great. The wait time is what kills you. You wait in the waiting room forever, then they take you back and you continue to wait and age and want to scream your face off. It’s maddening because you can hear his voice through the thin walls and you hear him leave a patient, thinking “great! I’m next!”, only to have him walk to another patient. I swear they schedule ten people at the same time slot.
I would leave 'O' stars. Staff is dismissive. I dropped off a disk showing a tumor to be sure the doctor saw it immediately. I walked over to the office on my lunch. I called a week later (good luck getting through) and the girl said the doctor was on vacation....didn't bother to mention that when I dropped the disc off. STILL haven't heard from this doctor!!! That was two weeks ago.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
