Glorified pill mill. Dr Patel refused to order standard tests before beginning a patient on new medication — basic bloodwork (ie, below the standard of care) under the reasoning that he’d have to pick up the phone and advise a patient to see another provider if a test shows abnormal results. In other words, Dr. Patel does not want to spend 20 seconds of his time to look at basic testing results that anyone with an MD would be able to interpret to establish a baseline before beginning a patient on new medication. That’s reason enough to know that this is a pill mill and his practice is burn and churn to bill as much as possible. And don’t get me started on his staff’s inability to communicate. I spend hours of my time and 5 calls to get 5 promises of a call back … which never happened. Promises of call backs by 5 staff members—none of which occurred. They are either lazy as hell—or, too busy billing as a pill mill. I suspect the later given the deviation from the standard of care at noted above. This was confirmed my multiple MD family members from MD Anderson and doctors at NYU Langone re: not the standard to refuse to take baseline tests prior to new medication treatment: the opposite is true. If you’re craving opioids, this seems like your place; if you present with real symptoms that would take more than throwing pills at you without monitoring, stay away.
This is a great group of doctors who care about their patients. I was with them for many years then I moved away for 5 years. As soon as I got back to NJ they were the 1st appointment I made. 5 years later and the doctor remembered me. That doesn’t happen in most places but they always took their time with me , explained everything, & always did what was best to help me with my chronic pain. I’m glad there are still doctors like this around and would highly recommend. I can’t wait to see some of the other doctors in the group
It was My first visit to the Hazlet Location to see Dr.Patel he was professional and caring. I would recommend my friends to his practice. I will be following up in the future if needed.
Came in with severe sciatic pain. Dr. Neil is a complete professional and made sure we had the right diagnosis and remedy. Sheila, his scheduling coordinator saw our situation and made sure we got authorization for an MRI and then epidural within minutes of our visit. Highly recommend this practice.
Dr. Patel was amazing. Very informative, provided many options and took the time to look over my test results before coming into my room so he knew why I was there and already had a game plan. I was very relieved to finally see a doctor that actually took his time, was very thorough and did not dismiss any of my concerns.
Wonderful staff eased my pain of 2 month 123
Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Front desk intake was speedy and friendly. Office is comfy and clean. And the doctor spoke to me directly addressing my concerns—quickly came up with a treatment plan, and performed a minor procedure while explaining every step of the way. As someone who works in healthcare on the IT side of things—this is the type of experience every patient wants. 5 stars.
My whole experience from making an appointment online to the girls and the dr. was great.
Staff was very helpful and friendly, the Dr. Was very thorough with exam and explaining the proper steps to make sure I get better.
Dr. Patel impressed me with his knowledge base and compassion. It is rare to find a doctor like this. I would recommend this practice to anyone in need. Truly excellent care.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
