List of Edwin Schulhafer's Reviews
Dr Schulhafer has helped me not only with my allergies, but with my health in general. He really cares about you as a patient and takes the time to look at your whole health, that’s a rare thing to find. He also gave me suggestions to help lower the cost of my medications which is something I was struggling with. Really appreciate him as a doctor, and his other staff members Brian and Madelyn are excellent as well. I will be staying with this office for sure.
Always a good experience!
I went to Dr. Schulhafer with severe allergies and asthma. He was terrific at diagnosing and treating both. In addition, Dr. Schulhafer and his staff are very attentive and informative. As a result, I am currently allergy-free, and my asthma is well controlled.
I have been a patient for 2 years. Dr. Shulhafer and Bryan have helped me tremendously! I had a nagging cough that would not go away no matter what I tried. I had been to several doctors to no avail. I can't thank them enough. They are very thorough and make you feel as though they really want to help you. Madeline the nurse is great too. She is really concerned for your well being too. Thanks again!
Very nice Doctor. Help me overcome severe allergies to pollen. Highly recommend.
This office is absolutely a mess. Having attended here as a patient for 18 months it has steadily gone down hill. It seems the Staff changes every couple of months and they are always 'new' and don't know whats going on. They are rude and un-sympathetic to making you wait for no apparent reason even when there is no-one in the office. I sat in an empty office for 40 minutes just for my weekly allergy shot that other office give in 5 minutes of arriving and when i asked what the wait was for i received a 'letter of dismissal' from the doctor for because i was apparently 'complaining' by asking. I am 52 yrs old and have never had an issue with any physician in my life, it seems they have no interest in customer service and the attitude is that you are luckily to be there and sit and be quiet no matter how long you're made to wait in an empty office. I have found another provider and thankfully they are professionals who still treat me as a patient and a person. Dr. Schulhafer didn't even have the courtesy to call me and speak to me about the fact he was 'dismissing' me as a patient because i asked about the wait this one time. While i was waiting there was one other patient who did come in after 30 minutes and heard me question the wait and proceeded to tell me how the office was getting progressively worse and I just nodded. I was shocked to receive this letter of dismissal and considered speaking with my attorney as i really am upset over it and wanted to pursue this matter and am still considering it. The letter said they would still provide services but no-one returned calls and it took a month to get into another doctor which caused me personal harm holding back treatment. I called and called to find out what happened and finally when someone got back to me they said the staff said we were complaining about the practice in the waiting room so we were 'dismissed'. I asked for any security camera footage and was told they have none, i asked for them to tell me what I allegedly said and they asked the staff and the staff said they did not know or remember just that I was complaining with another patient. Both of us were dismissed apparently. All i did was question the 40 minute wait in an empty office. Unbelievable that this Doctor wouldn't have had the courtesy after having me as a great patient for 18 months to simply call me to find out what really happened. Apparently this office feels like patients should be seen and not heard.... If I hear one more comment from this office or If i can prove they have said anything to my new physician to taint me unfairly I will pursue this matter.
Dr. Schulhafer diagnosed a problem with my leg that other doctors could not. My leg is excellent now and I thank him for it. His staff is very pleasant too.
I started going to Dr. Schulhafer when I was 12, he diagnosed me with full-blown asthma and gave me inhalers and such to treat it. Everything was going great until I started getting reoccurring sinus infections. Instead of looking for a deeper reason as to why I was getting them almost every month, I just kept getting prescribed with antibiotics and steroids. Keep in mind, I was still 15 at this point. he kept having to amp up the antibiotics because it kept getting harder and harder for my body to rid these infections. Finally, I went to see an ENT to figure out what was going on. I ended up having chronic sinusitis (small sinuses that don't drain very well). I would've never known if I kept going to Dr. Schulhafer. The antibiotics and steroids that I was put on at a young age destroyed my body. I would not recommend going here.
One of the nurse or nurse's assistant almost overdosed my son at the office. Thank goodness i caught her action in time. When I told the doctor of the situation, not only did he not accept responsibility for his staff's carelessness nor did he apologize, he actually said that the dose (5x more than what my son was supposed to take) would not have a significant effect on his health! Seriously? I was speechless by his arrogance!
One of the worst doctors that I have ever been to. I was receiving allergy injections from him that were ineffectual, and I started getting food allergies that I NEVER had before. 99% of the newly acquired food allergies went away when I ceased the allergy injections. Originally went to him due to a severe sinus infection. You would think claiming to be THE sinus and allergy center for the whole state of NJ, he would know how to treat a sinus infection. NOPE! Every week for 3-4 weeks he was giving me 3-4 prescriptions to try and do something for the infection that was only getting worse and worse. He tried to put an endoscope into my sinuses. He made a big production of it, hooking it up to a screen so that I could see. There was nothing to see since the passage was completely swollen and full of pus. He kept trying to shove it up there, despite the excessive swelling. I left there with quite a bloody nose and never went back. Luckily I found a wonderful otolaryngologist that gave me a prescription for 2 drugs for the infection, which started working in 5 days. He too used an endoscope, but no monitor. He sensed my nervousness about it, and when I told him about the ordeal at Dr. Schulhafer's office, he cringed! He told me that no one should ever be put through an ordeal like that - ever!! Don't ever let this doctor use an endoscope on you, better yet, don't go to this doctor for any kind of sinus symptom. I find Zyrtec and Flonase treat my allergies better than any sort of injections from here ever have. If you value your health, stay away from here.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
