Schweiger Dermatology Group Hillsborough's Online Review Report Card

If I could give a zero or less I would. You don't see a doctor unless you specifically make it an issue, only see PAs. I developed a rash following 2nd visit of 2 part treatment - both parts done by PAs. Call to report it. Given Prescription #1 - has no effect. Go back in, see a different PA, says oh you have a an allergic rash, "maybe" hives - I'm like no kidding. I ask what caused it. PA: no idea. Tells me script 1 wrong stuff, writes 2 more prescriptions. #2 should clear it up - had no effect. but says if #2 doesn't work use #3 an oral steroid, #3 begins to have some effect but PA never said once I stop rash will return, which is did 2 days after medication stopped. Finally, ask for apmt to see actual Doctor. He says script #1 was wrong medication. Says #2 insufficient dosage - is meant for kids and babies. Confirms that #3 only temporarily masks symptoms. What??!!!??. Gives me script #4 which is supposed to resolve situation. If that's what was needed, why wasn't that script #1?!! Why did I have to suffer unnecessarily with a burning rash for an extra 10-12 days. What's even more alarming is he never even bothered to read my chart beforehand, had no idea what I had been treated for in first place until I told him, just kept saying well he wasn't there so can say what caused it. Worse yet, instead of owning fact that rash appeared after my 2nd visit, he went totally defensive claiming it was from an outside source, until realizing I wasn't buying it, admitted "could've been something" first PA used on me. This place is an factory. PAs administering medications on guesswork without consulting with a doctor first. As for the doctor I did see (Goldberg), he had by far the worst bedside manor I've ever encountered. Not so much as a hey sorry this happened. More concerned with deflecting blame. So four visits, and four scripts later and as yet no idea if I'm done. Meanwhile, my insurance footed bill for 2 office visits and 3 unnecessary medications, while I'm out of pocket 2 office co-pays and 3 prescription co-pays. I should send them a bill for reimbursement. Readers may think I'm unreasonable, but we're not talking about a shoe store, they're dealing with peoples' health. I'll never go back or ever refer anyone else. Avoid the Schweiger group.

My experience at this derm group is too much attention to their aesthetics and their exterior image. Read everyone’s previous comments- beautiful setting, calm office, etc. They are not patient-centered. Here are the issues I experienced: 1. A growth on my lip had been fast growing. I told this to Dr. Goldberg. He said this was not a cold sore and needed to do a biopsy. Since I saw Dr. Goldberg, this growth has grown taller and wider. Dr. Goldberg never inquired how my lip was doing over the 13 days as I waited for my pathology report. And, he had no sense of urgency to report on my test results. More of my lip is now involved. 2. He did not do the biopsy. Despite the height of my growth, the PA only took a scraping. I trusted Dr. Goldberg that he and the PA was doing the right thing. However, the pathology report said “layers need to be removed and tested”. Now I have to have another biopsy. Where was his dermatology experience in taking more of this growth to be tested? 3. My pathology report was at the office on Friday morning at 8. I followed up with the office on Friday with multiple requests for my results. No one called me or put my results on my portal. This is a violation of a federal law (21st Century Cares Act, April 2021) about providing immediate lab results to patients. By Monday, I was extremely anxious about this growth in my lip. It was still growing and I can only think of worst case scenarios. Why isn’t anyone calling me with my results? I called multiple times and everyone kept taking a message. One person at the office said Dr. Goldberg signed off on your lab report over the weekend. This was 13 days post biopsy! He did not have the courtesy of calling me Monday morning? 4. Finally, at 12:30, I could not wait any longer. I drove to their office to pick up my lab results. Someone from their office called me as I was pulling into their parking lot. She asked me how I was doing? I’m great. I’ve only called 5 times and wrote several messages demanding my lab results be placed in my portal. How do you think I feel? This office lacks the most basic premise of understanding the patient experience especially when the threat of a cancer diagnosis is looming. 5. When I picked up my lab report and said I could not believe I had to drive here to get my test results, one of the receptionist’s snickered at me. I am worried I have cancer and I’m going to lose half my bottom lip? That’s funny? This is an office with providers who are running an office with a very bad culture. What shameful treatment!

Awesome people

I saw a physician assistant for a rash at the Hillsborough location. She had no idea what it was and stated that to me. Even though the lesions were not fluid filled, she cultured it anyway by sticking me with a needle until I bled to use that as her sample. They were negative and I am yet to recieve a follow up phone call with the results from them. As a midlevel practitioner, if unaware of a diagnosis you have a collaborating physician that you can turn to for a second opinion, which she did not do. I went to PS Dermatology and saw Dr. Patel who was able to diagnosis me immediately with pityriasis rosea just from his subjective exam. I would never recommend anyone to go to Schweiger dermatology group for any clinical matters.

DONT GO HERE. This group is a scam. I had Botox done here in January for my masseters. I paid for it out of my own pocket, they made sure I sign all the forms and pay beforehand. They are now trying to bill me for this more than 8 months later after a service has been paid for (MORE THAN $300$…. This place is a scam and will charge you just to charge you in order to get money. I’m sure a lawsuit will be coming soon as they seem to be notorious scam artists with the bills.

Was able to get appointment within days of calling for one; there was only a short waiting time once I arrived for appointment. Staff is friendly and courteous. Provider spent time answering my questions and was courteous and knowledgeable.

I HAVE SEEING OTHER DERMATOLOGIST AROUND MY AREA INCLUDING ( WORLD TRADE CENTER MONITORING DOCTOR’S ) SINCE I SUFFER FROM WARTS IN MY HANDS CONSTANTLY AFTER FINISHING THE RECOVERY AND CLEAN UP OF 9/11/2001. I CAME TO (SCHWEIGER DERMATOLOGY GROUP) WITH NO EXPECTATIONS BUT WHEN I MET (DR.GABRIELLA MELAHN) SHE GAVE ME HOPE WITH ONLY 2 TREATMENTS ME WARTS WERE GONE…I STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!
