worst Oral surgeon Ever! maybe not him but the people that work there are just sad and nasty and always have an attitude. Don't go here if you are in Jersey City area, or anywhere.
He is the VERY BEST. I had to move and if I ever need oral surgery again I would seriously consider traveling back to see him. No one else's work has measured up to the bar he set. He also has an excellent chair-side manner, listens, explains, and has a friendly staff. Can't say enough good things. I knew he was good, but I didn't realize just HOW good I had it until I had to move.
Kind, patient, highly skilled, absolutely superb care.
I had my wisdom teeth pulled here 20 years ago. My kid had teeth pulled here this year. Professional, warm, friendly doctors and staff that pull teeth if you need it!
Doctor was great. Staff screwed up big time. They told me not to worry about any bills in removing my wisdom teeth because I'll be covered. A month later I get a bill for over $1000.00 in the mail and my insurance is refusing to pay due to the staff giving the wrong codes. Absolutely terrible. Now I'm forced to pay 50x what it would have cost me if I just went to another competent Dentist and was covered correctly. Thanks for that.
Dr. Scalia is very professional. I’ve been a patient for 3 years and very happy with their services. Highly recommend!
I got a wisdom tooth extracted in 2017. Dr. Scalia was actually great, I had limited discomfort afterwards and no issues with the surgery at all.My issue is with with the office is the billing practices. A year after the service was performed, I received a bill representing a 20% premium to the price I was quoted and originally paid.I would recommend getting a full explanation of your benefits and having everything you are getting performed in writing prior to engaging in any services.
Never had a bad experience here(Thank God) except for getting a chichlet yanked. Never good having teeth pulled, but Dr. Scalia is very good.
I was referred to Dr. Scalia by his partner Dr. Quinones from the Union City office. There, they met with me and took a panoramic dental x-ray. After reviewing the x-ray, Dr. Quinones decided that his partner at the Jersey City office would be best to assist. My records were transferred to the Jersey City office and an appointment made to see Dr. Scalia.Trying to get an appointment with Dr. Scalia was challenging as staff does not always answer the telephone or return calls. I found Dr. Scalia to be super social, sweet and knowledgeable. His staff, however, not as friendly or competent. I scheduled my appointment to have two Temporary Anchorage Device (TAD) to assist with my orthodontic treatment, I even brought in a written script from my orthodontist and Dr. Scalia's staff still didn't know which procedure I needed done. They called me one day after they attempted to charge my insurance company $20k for what they thought I was getting done; major jaw reconstructive surgery!! Going in I knew I was having this procedure done out of pocket, but never thought 2 screws would cost $20k! Because they do not- staff did not know what they were doing (SCARY). Dr. Scalia gave me a "generous" discount for the TAD; I paid in full $300 the day they were placed. Six months later, I get an invoice for $360!! When I called the office to inquire about the invoice, I was told by the staff that it was for consultation and X-rays. So, why wasn't I billed for those services when I paid the $300??? Why were they "attempting" to bill my insurance for 6 months and not inform me - Again, this procedure to my knowledge was going to be OUT OF POCKET. I'm sorry, he's a great doctor, but looks like some shay business is going on.... Will NOT do business there again!5 star for Dr. Scalia - 1 star for poor practices.
i found Dr Scalia to be very professional and he took very good care of my daughter, however, I found his staff to be unprofessional and miserable. I have worked as a dental hygienist for 28 years, so I know how patients should be spoken to, and the girls in this office are not welcoming or nice at all

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
