I highly recommend Dr. Teitelbaum, and his staff. They're professional, courteous and so caring! Dr. Teitelbaum took amazing care of our son who had a very scary diagnosis. Dr. Teitelbaum called me several times while we anxiously awaited pathology results, not only to keep me informed, but out of deep concern. He is such a kind, compassionate physician, and we can't thank him enough.
I truly never write reviews and I have to say the staff and Dr Teitelbaum was very polite and had wonderful bedside manner however I didn’t feel like he took the time out to truly figure out the issue my child was having. The first consultation I wanted to go and see him because I figured they would need to do some sort of testing however the girl told me that they don’t do that there (I found out the morning of, they don’t do testing and I could have done a telehealth) so I asked if I could do a telehealth instead and they told me I would have had to send all the paperwork beforehand. So I bring my 3 month old there just to have a consult and he recommends a formula change. I just knew a formula change wasn’t going to make everything better. I had a follow up appointment and I did not feel like my concerns were being heard. I decided not to do another follow up appointment and get a second opinion. I am so glad I did because it wound up being something completely different and the new gastro also tested her stool which was never done here. I have heard wonderful things about Dr Teitelbaum and I feel like if they had taken the time out to just test my daughters stool and go through the motions maybe the outcome would be different. Just ask questions first with this office before you schedule anything.
I saw this doctor back in 2003ish when I was 12. Told me and my mom that I should see a therapist because I was vomiting continuously for three months and lost 30lbs. He it was an eating disorder. I still don’t know why I was vomiting, I think severe constipation... but the way this doctor spoke to me had a long lasting negative impact.
Not only did this doctor misdiagnose my son he also spoke down to me in an extremely unprofessional way ! I had to take my son to CHOP to finally find out what was wrong with him.
Dr. Teitelbaum is one of the most professional and caring Dr.s I have come across in a long time. I would highly recommend this office. The front desk staff and nursing staff couldn't have been more professional and courteous. I'm thankful for the care he gave my son who is now doing amazingly well in a very short time.
Excellent and knowledgeable doctor. Truly outstanding.
Dr teitelbaum performed an upper endoscopy on my 5 year old. He was knowledgable, compassionate, and gentle. Outstanding!!
He diagnosed and treated our daughter when no one else could. We are glad we brought her to him.
Dr. Teitelbaum diagnosed and treated me when I was child (12yo -19yo). My mother and I both remember good experiences when seeing him for those years. I'm 32 now and wish I could still visit him since the gastro I see now has not been very helpful in maintaining my Crohn's. Anyway, I hope he gets to see this. Maybe he would even remember me (Ian Matthew Kline)! If there is an email patients can contact him through then I would love to drop a message and say hi. Thanks!
The worst doctor on the face of the earth. This man should not be caring for children. My daughter suffered for months and this quack kept telling us nothing was wrong! She would scream in pain all day long. Thank god we trusted our instincts that something was not right and we found a great doctor that is treating my daughter. I wish I could give negative stars!
He let my daughter suffer in pain trying to tell us nothing was wrong!!!! Thank god we didn’t give up and found a good doctor that is willing to help my daughter.
He treated us like we were beneath him and couldn't care less about my son. Made me feel stupid because I never tried the third drug he threw at my son, as it's an antidepressant but is supposed to help with IBS (not even sure that's what he actually has). Ended up trying the antidepressant and my son became constipated and depressed-like constant crying and not communicating. Still gets pain every day upon feeling the urge to poop to the point of him getting panic attacks, sweating, being unable to speak. Dr. Teitelbaum has no bedside manner and even makes snide remarks to you in front of your child. So frustrated!
Professional, knowledgeable. He was great with our son. Very good Dr. Followed through even weeks later. Highly recommended.
Not a good gastrologist, thinks your child is imagining his symptoms.
I was a patient of Dr. Teitelbaum's for several years (until I was old enough that I had to switch). He diagnosed me with UC immediately, after another doctor had somehow missed it, despite performing a sigmoidoscopy. For the last couple years I have seen several different doctors after moving and trying to settle on a new one, and this has helped me appreciate how easy it was to work with Dr. Teitelbaum. Whenever I was sick, he would call me and talk to me as long as needed-he would always call again to follow up. I'm lucky if I can get a 5 minute conversation at the office with my current doctor! I will also add the Dr. T. is conservative with the meds he prescribes, avoiding the harsher drugs unless they're the only option.
Dr. Teitelbaum takes the time you need, I never feel rushed. He explains things clearly and in a way that my child can understand as well. We missed an appointment one day, and he actually called the house to make sure everything was ok. He is a traditional doctor that still cares about his job. I really feel like he is there to help. I also trust his opinion and insight. I strongly recommend him.
I took my son to this Dr many years ago when he was 7, complaining of severe pain in the middle of his stomach. His comment was that no one gets pain right in the middle of their stomach and implied that it was all in his head. Unfortunately back then there were no pediatric gastro Drs in the area. Unfortunately this went on until my son was in his teens when I found another dr who was able to diagnose my son . A friend of mine brought her daughter to him and had a similar experience. I would not recommend this Dr to anyone. If ur child is sick take them to Robert Wood Hospital in New Brunswick.
Dr. Titelbaum is a wonderful caring doctor. He takes the time to speak with the child and the parent. He is very thorough. I highly recommend him. Because he is so in demand it can take a while to get an appointment, in my opinion (Unless it is an emergency, of course) it is worth the wait.
Ignored obvious diagnosis via biopsy because he thought my son's condition was too rare. Brought my child to CHOP and was diagnosed with the same condition which Dr. Teitalbaum said was too rare for my child to have. My son has been doing much better since he has been under CHOP's care.
He is VERY WELL EDUCATED and willing to do more research about your symptoms along with your previous health history. He is not quick to give medication or testing but once he thinks he knows every he needs to know about you he will gradually increase (testing/meds)
