Dr. Shen and his team are knowledgeable, thorough, and supportive. He is always available if there are any concerns or questions. My surgery went phenomenally and the recovery was a breeze. Cannot recommend him enough!

After suffering 5 years and going to numerous doctors, I met Dr. Shen and his team for a consultation. The team was highly organized , Dr. Shen was thorough and very friendly and I was scheduled for surgery a few weeks later on March 17, 2023. My surgery involved slipped discs, L4,L5 , spinal stenosis , bone spurs and the removal of a benign cyst. My surgery was at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, NY. My experience of care was a five star ***** experience. Dr. Shen and the St. Marys team was excellent. I went home the same day, walked up 15 steps to the second floor of my home, just amazing. March 18th, the next day, Dr. Shen called me to see how I was feeling. He is caring and compassionate. I went for a walk around my neighborhood the next day after surgery and I was pain free. I have had no physical therapy. I returned to work full-time on March 22, 2023. I highly recommend Dr Shen. His skills and talent gave me my life back.

He reviewed my MRI and noticed that the disk between L4 and L5 had fractured/broke off and was pushing against my nerve, (My Pain doctor and Radiologist did not detect the fracture); Within 2 weeks of my initial contact with Dr. Shen, I had minimally invasive spine surgery at St. Mary's in Amsterdam, NY, as an outpatient, to remove the fractured disk. After the procedure, Dr. Shen called me, on a Sunday afternoon, to find out how I was doing. The doctor and staff were always very understanding and compassionate. Now, 2 months post op I am pain free. Dr. Shen is the real deal, trust me, before the procedure I was curled in a fetal position resting on my sofa several times a day, unable to move, now I am pain free. Don’t hesitate to call and make an appointment today, he will eliminate the pain.

Dr Shen is the most compassionate wonderful doctor. He gave me my life back without doing one single incision! I had consulted with several neurosurgeons about my disc issues and drop foot. All said I need spine surgery - immediately. They said PT was a waste of time. Not Dr Shen. He examined me thoroughly and advised me to try PT first, and said that in 2 weeks I should hopefully see results. Like clockwork, after two weeks of PT, my drop foot is cured and back problems relieved. I am beyond thankful. All I know is that if issues should ever recur, and I need surgery, I would run to this man to have it done because I have 100% trust in him. Five stars is not enough to give such a wonderful, thorough, and truly honest doctor. God bless him!!!!! I also wanted to add that he has a wonderful staff, who were extremely kind, patient and helpful.

Dr. Shen is a wonderful surgeon, he did a great job . He explained everything to me in a very clear manner.He was also kind and friendly. All of the staff was great. It’s rare to find a doctor that combines such personal touches and care for a patient as a person with outstanding quality of medical care. I highly recommend becoming his patient!

Dr Shen is an awesome doctor who is knowledgeable, skilled, and compassionate, and he took the time to listen to and understand my unique needs and concerns. After speaking to many people for recommendations on who to see for my back pain, Dr Shen was highly revered. He did my endoscopic microdiscectomy and rid me of 9 months of pain and medication to be able to function during the day. He has given me back my life and I will forever be grateful to him for that. I would recommend him to everyone I know with spine issues without reservation. Thank you Dr. Shen and his team for taking care of me and calling me to follow up multiple times after surgery.
