Elad Feldman's Online Review Report Card

I see Dr. Feldman. I have never had a more thorough exam then with him accept for Wills Eye hospital. He always takes time to listen and explain. A very compassionate and caring Dr. He discovered my daughter ocular melanoma and sent her immediately to Wills. For that I will always be grateful.

Had cataract surgery a few years ago. Dr Feldman was my surgeon. Can say enough about his kind, expert, and professional care. He removed and replaced my cloudy lens and no glasses needed with 20/20 vision. So grateful.

If it were possible to give Dr. Feldman zero stars, and also provide this review, I would. As a caregiver to a patient of Dr. Feldman's, and as a patient of Dr. Feldman myself, we both left his care shortly after our last visit with him in January 2018. Dr. Feldman was treating a patient in my care for 2 years after a failed cateract surgery not performed by Feldman. The patients vision continued to decline after reparative surgery (performed successfully by a retina special and not by Feldman). At the suggestion of the retina specialist, Feldman performed laser surgery in an attempt to improve the patients vision. This did not work, and the patients vision continued to decline. On the next visit, the last with Feldman before we left his practice, Feldman asked the patient how his vision was since the laser surgery. I responded directly with one word "terrible". Feldman asked me to explain. I told him that the patients vision was worse, and that the patient stopped reading, and when he did read, he required a magnifying glass with a light on it. I continued with the patient no longer drove at night , and that during the day, the glare bothered the patient so much, that the window shades had to be down at all times. Feldman examined the patient and we were told there was a slight decrease in vision, but that there wasn't more he could do for the patient. He suggested that we buy a Kindle for reading. I have a copy of this report from Feldman, and in the section for patient complaints , Feldman reported "none". One month later the patient was diagnosed with a macroadenoma at Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital in NYC. This large tumor was crushing the patient's optic nerve and he was going blind quickly. The neuro opthamologist at Sloan Kettering asked if our current opthamologist did any imaging. I told them that Feldman requested no imaging. After the diagnosis from Sloan Kettering, I called Feldman's office to inform him that we discovered the reason for the patients rapidly declining vision. I left this message with an employee in the office who answered the phone. I was told Feldman was not in. I was immediately called back to ask that we come in for a field vision test at our convenience. I told the office that the imaging was performed at Sloan Kettering. Later that afternoon Feldman called. After a short conversation, which included providing Feldman with the patients surgery date which occurred only several days after we spoke, he wished us luck and we never heard from him again. It took 2 surgeries to remove the macroadenoma. Had this been diagnosed sooner, it could have been called a microadenoma, a smaller, easier tumor to remove. Due to his complete negligence regarding a lack of imaging, his inability to diagnose that his patient was going blind, and his negligence to report patient complaints accurately, I would never recommend Feldman to anyone. My GP (regular Dr.) contacted Dr Feldmans office describing my condition (shingles on my face close to my eye) & got me an apt for later that day. Turns out it was a good thing I didn't just dismiss this as breakout of pimples (which I rarely get) and was promptly seen by my GP & then sent to Dr Feldman who got me right in. Being close to my eye he asked if I was started on medication which I was but he also prescribed a special eye drop to try to prevent it from spreading to my eye which would have had a high probability of causing vision issues. The eye drops were expensive even with insurance but without asking Dr Feldman providing a savings voucher. He was extremely thorough from my initial visit until the last. I find him to be very professional doing his very best to prevent any complications. Office staff is very professional, I was always seen quickly and attribute Dr Feldman to successfully keeping it from spreading to my eye. And for that I am truly grateful & would absolutely recommend him. He spent a lot of time with me during each visit & I never once felt rushed. He always took the time to answer any questions. For the condition he treated me for I am very, very pleased that my GP sent me to him! Thank You Dr. Feldman! MikeM

Dr. Feldman is a wonderful eye doctor and surgeon.  He is thorough during eye exams and is careful to explain everything to you. You do not feel rushed. The staff in the office are very friendly and helpful.  I just had cataract surgery with Dr. Feldman and I was very nervous. He explained to me what he was doing and spoke in a very calm voice.  His mannerisms relaxed me and I had a very good outcome. He seems to be an excellent surgeon. I have had no pain from the surgery and can see much better!!! A pleasant experience which is a wonderful surprise. Happy to say he wil be doing my other eye in a few weeks.  I highly recommend him.

Excellent - I had shingles on my face very close to my eye & was referred to him by my primary GP Dr.. When asked if I had an eye specialist to see & I replied no my GP called with me sitting in his personal office & got me seen by Dr Feldman that same day. For the condition I had I'm very pleased with the outcome & feel that he saved me from having vision issues. Great experience overall including his staff which are top notch! If he specializes in the area of your medical needs I recommend him. I needed to use expensive eye drops even with insurance and Dr. Feldman provided me with a coupon / savings voucher without even asking. I never felt rushed & felt like I was in good hands right from the start.

Dr. Feldman is a model of competence and compassionate care. He treats his patients with respect and communicates care plans clearly while answering questions patiently and thoroughly. His office staff are pleasant and accommodating; his on site optical shop is user friendly and convenient.Highly recommend...you won't be disappointed.
