Dr. Andrew B. Brown, Oncologist I first met Dr. Brown in March 2017 (two and a half years ago) when I was in the hospital diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer that had metastasized to my liver. It was a “getting to know you” meeting. I was assigned to Dr. Brown’s care. He spent an extraordinary amount of time with me, asking about my family history and just chatting. I connected with him immediately. His personality, his demeanor and honesty said much about him. He left me feeling that I was in good hands, that he cared about me and that he was going to do his best to take care of me. I see him every two weeks and enjoy our meetings. He answers my questions honestly in language that I can understand. He has great people skills and listens attentively to what I have to say, never interrupts and makes me feel important. Dr. Brown is the best of the best! He has been treating me for lung cancer since Oct. 20018. He puts a lot of thought into my options and helps me decide the best course of treatment. He makes me feel like he is treating a family member, with much care, concern and compassion. His nurse Stephanie is also amazing. She always returns my calls and answers my many questions. With her wisdom she puts my mind at ease at a very difficult time.

Dr. brown has all the qualities of an excellent doctor.He considered all facts and put a lot of thought into planning my treatment. Always making sure he is doing the best for his patient. He is kind, he listens, and answers all my questions. Every time I make a call it is returned promptly by his very knowledgeable nurse Stephanie. I could not ask for a better team. So happy and blessed to have ended up in this care after a long and careful search for an oncologist.

Knowledgeable, supportive and excellent bedside manner. Dr. Brown takes his time and doesn’t rush through answering questions. There was a level of mutual respect for patient thoughts and feeling of inclusion regarding care. I also greatly appreciated the encouragement for not just a healthy diet, but implementing a soy-free plant based vegan diet, if possible. I would highly recommend this amazing doctor!!!

I met Dr. Brown back in 2014 due to a diagnosis of Breast Cancer in November 2014. I was diagnosed in November, had the surgery in December of 2014 and began chemo therapy approximately a month or so after surgery in 2015. My son is a MD in the Washington DC area and had many conversations with Dr. Brown as you can imagine. Dr. Brown was very responsive to the many questions both my son and I had about my treatment plan and prognosis. He is a VERY CARING/EMPATHETIC DOCTOR; and sincerely commiserates with his patients. I often thought that he must go home drained as his specialty in medicine can be very emotionally exhausting; especially if you have the capacity to genuinely care about your patients. He is a HUMANITARIAN first and a MD second - and seemingly a very loving father and husband (beautiful family pictures are displayed in his office and examining rooms; smiles) I cannot say enough about this wonderful human being and feel honored to have this opportunity to share!

I trust Dr. Andrew Brown 100%. Will spend any amount of time with you until you understand your condition and what he has planned for you. I like that so I have no questions when I leave his office. He listens to all that you have to say. I have told some friends and family that are unfortunate to have cancer to please ask for Dr. Andrew Brown at The Cancer Center at Saint Barnabas Medical, which also is the best hospital at all the medical needs you may have, everyone that I've come in contact with have been so very, very nice to me.

Dr Brown has fine qualifications. I take issue with his short, pat answers to my concerns about the medication in the course of my treatment. I like to be listened to and taken seriously as an adult partner in my wellness, not someone to be spoken to in a condescending way. He also said something snarky about another physician.
