Debra R. Tarantino's Online Review Report Card

I'm totally confused after reading the few negative reviews of Dr. Tarantino. She is top on my list, and in my experience, one of the best and most competent physicians I've had the good fortune to have access to. My Gyn (another kind, very well respected Dr. in the area) told me long ago Debbie Tarantino is an excellent surgeon, and had saved the life of one of her best friends. In addition to exams and other issues she's treated me for over the years, I've had three colonoscopies (family history of colon cancer) performed by her. The second one was slightly scary, multiple polyps, one was large and symptomatic. (I'd waited 4 years longer than she'd recommended after initial scope) Following removal there were no issues whatsoever. After the most recent screening this past January, I'm now on the 5 yr follow up in lieu of the 3 yr plan. As one reviewer put it, she really "knows her stuff," and her bedside manner is so compassionate, reassuring and down to earth I love talking with her. She also has a fantastic sense of humor. So many great virtues packed into one Dr.! While it's been wonderful to leave her with complete peace of mind, if at some point in the future any serious pathology is discovered, I will trust her and her team over 100% to deal with it. Thank you, Dr. Tarantino, you're terrific!! And many thanks to your staff as well.

Dr Tarantino is very professional and has a great bedside manner. . She knows what she's doing and the office staff are extremely pleasant and easy going..

Unprofessional, rude, unqualified excuse of a doctor. My husband went to see Dr. Tarantino for a minor problem. He went to the surgical center where she performed a minor procedure. He left there is no discharge instructions and still out of it from anesthesia. By the time we reached our home, my husband was bleeding profusely. When I tracked her down, she said that we can come back to the surgery center or go to the closest ER. Had he been properly observed before his release possibly this could’ve been avoided, I thought at the time. I contacted her again, three days later and asked about her discharge procedure and how he was sent home. She was condescending and rude and questioned my ability to care for him. My husband is a healthy man that when for a minor procedure. The day after my most unpleasant conversation with the lovely Dr Tarantino, my husband hemorrhaged from her botched surgery. Thankfully when I called the service I spoke to her partner. He instructed me to take my husband to the ER. After being there for a short time the lovely Dr Tarantino arrived. She explained that he would need to go back to surgery. Then she left and didn’t return for 10 hours, as her patient was left bleeding on a hospital bed. After numerous calls to her incompetent office staff she returned to the ER. Where my husband was lying in his own blood for 10 hours. she is a disaster. My veterinarian offers better care. Awful steer clear of this woman. She is as fake as her profile picture that was taken 35 years ago and she still uses

UPDATE: After doing my own research, investigating other proctologists that my insurance can cover, I found an amazing doctor who finally helped me, I was given completely different suggestions and an ointment that drastically improved my condition in just a few days! Debra never even mentioned an ointment, just pain medications and another surgery. The checkups were painful with Debra and would leave me sore for days, but Notaro was gentle and just overall more professional, I wasn't left sore for hours, I was shocked at the difference. Thank god I didn't give in to another surgery, I highly recommend Dr Joseph Notaro. I go out my way to write this review because I genuinely want to help people who are in pain, I know how stressful it can be when you don't know who to trust so please do your own research, look into Debra's low reviews before trusting her. I agree with Nisha (the one star review) Debra Tarantino is highly unprofessional. Please, do yourself a favor and find a better more compassionate doctor if you are suffering from hemorrhoids. She will give you false expectations about the surgery, and will NOT give you the support or information that you need, she’s impatient and will talk over you when you ask for help- you are literally on your own after the surgery, you’re going to have to do your own research, if the surgery turned out painful, which is what happened in my case, not only did she NOT do her job right (it was incomplete) she also lacks basic interpersonal skills. Her medical assistants (she avoids speaking to you AFTER the surgery so she’ll have you contact only her assistants meaning you’ll have to go out your way if you want to reach her) also underestimate your pain, it all reflects back to the kind of person Debra Tarantino is If you come to read this far, please take this as a sign to avoid her at all costs! 🙏

Dr. Tarantino has done 3 surgeries for me. God bless those hands and that brain! She may come off as rushed or arrogant if your just meeting her but the woman knows her stuff and has more compassion in one tiny finger than most surgeons I have encountered. She truly takes each case personal and when things don't go the way she planned I know she beats herself up over it. Life is unpredictable and she knows it. Thank you Dr for all you do, have done and continue to do throughout your career. You literally saved my life not in so many words but in all the ways I can explain. This is only beginning of how good I know I'm going to continue to feel. Thank you again Dr. Tarantino, to you and your staff God bless!

I have written a review before and I will again to save as much people from making the mistake to trust this doctor. Dr. Tarantino is one of the best doctor's I have ever seen. She is so nice and makes you feel extremely comfortable. She is very informative and will go out of her way to accommodate you. I would recommend her to anyone who needs to see a speacialist in this field. It is a pleasure to be her patient.

Dr. Tarantino, did my hemorrhoids surgery, she explains everything before surgery and check up on you. She was so soothing made you feel comfortable and no stress. Thank you Dr. T for a smooth easy stress free event.

I had major surgery the on September 27, 2021 I was extremely nervous ! Dr Tarantino was just amazing. She explained everything to me completely! She makes total eye contact and doesn’t bring in the computer! All went well! I spent 3 days in the hospital ! Her resistants and interns visited me often. They all spoke highly of her. I knew when I searched for a surgeon, I wanted the best!!! I got the best of the best! I just love her!

God bless the hands of this surgeon, doctor and human being. The doctor and her staff are caring, supportive and will take the time to treat patients with efficiency and respect.
