Dr. Bassani performed a cranial surgical procedure for an infant in my family that went off without a hitch. He is very informative and empathetic, and when there is an important need he treats it like one and gets things done very quickly. He genuinely cares about his patients and their families. His office is clean and his secretarial team is solid, they are polite and get things processed from billing to scheduling appointments without a need for follow-up. I am very happy with his services and highly recommend him. Update: After receiving a huge bill from Morristown Medical center, where we had our surgery, I recommend that you ask upfront for a cost estimate before choosing a hospital. Dr. Bassani works with Morristown Medical Center or St. Barnabas Hospital. So he will give you those as your only options. However, the cost at Morristown Medical Center's for an operating room and a recovery room for one day runs about $50,000 WITH insurance - Which you will be billed separately for. So, I highly recommend for you ask for a cost estimate before selecting your hospital and any optional procedures. No one will proactively advise you to request this. I still rate him 5-stars for his excellent service, but just want to note that his hospital affiliations raise the costs significantly in comparison to other comparable hospitals. The cost of the rooms at Morristown were higher than the actual procedure!

Dr. Bassani is quick to get you in and awesome at making sure the patient (as well as parents) understand all things that are going on in treatment, further studies etc. He takes the time to answer all questions. Not once did I feel rushed.

Very warm and kind physician. Took my newborn to have him review images of an ultrasound of her spine because of a birthmark on her lower back (ruling out tethered cord). His bedside manner is wonderful. Answered all my ridiculous questions and made me feel comfortable.

Amazing surgeon. Not only great at what he does, but he is also caring and compassionate. On Oct 8th 2021, I had major spine surgery done A fusion at L4-L5 and L5-S1 and a laminectomy at L3-L4. 3 months later doing really well, should be playing golf by mid April 2022. Whenever I called his office they always returned our calls. I had back surgery in July 2020 by another surgeon it lasted about 2 months before it got worse. Then when I started having problems he didn't want to know and dumped me off on his pain management Doctor. The nice thing about Dr. Bassani is that he is old enough to have experience but young enough to still care. Great job Doc I highly recommend you, but hopefully I won't need you again.
