List of Frederick K. Shieh's Reviews
Like most laymen, I cannot speak to Dr. Shieh's skills as a surgeon, but I can tell you that he is kind, compassionate, caring, patient, thorough, and professional. One of the best I have had in my 62 years of life.
Thank you Dr Shieh and staff after all the craziness with my appointment yesterday. I have a list of names to thank but don’t want to post them.
I don’t know about any of the negative reviews left for Dr. Shieh on here, BUT what I do know is that he is a phenomenal Gastroenterologist! Very knowledgeable, respectful, and humble. Treats ALL of his patients as though they were part of his own family. I am very thankful to be under his expert care!
Dr. Shieh [sounds like Shay] is a very kind caring physician. He has a comfortable easygoing bedside manner. He saved my life. He was able to take care of this matter I've needed to attend to for months. I would recommend Dr. Shieh to my friends and family.
I felt unheard and as he wasn’t acknowledging what I told him. I don’t like going to doctors so when I go I like for the doctor to listen. I felt dismissed. He said he ordered an ultrasound to appease me but when I called to schedule he hadn’t put the order in. Maybe there was nothing but now I don’t know. I don’t like doing reviews but I felt sad when I left his office. To be fair I haven’t had problems with colonoscopies and endoscopy’s he has done but as a person who worked in the public 30 plus year’s a smile doesn’t cover up for your attitude. I always feel like this when leaving his office.
I am very lucky to have met Dr. Shieh who suggested i have a colonoscopy done at the same time as my endoscopy since the screening age changed from 50 to 45. I thought of postponing it but he thought it would be a good idea. During the colonoscopy he found a malignant tumor the size of a small orange. When he gave me the news he made sure I was with my loved one and he was so kind and understanding. It turned out to be stage 2 and if it were not for dr. Shieh’s suggestion, I would not have done it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It if it weren’t for you, I would not have caught the cancer early enough.
Doctor Sheih is professional in his approach and articulate and compassionate in his follow-up.
I had an issue that led me into urgent care and I went to Dr. Sheih the day after. First, he started with scaring me about the medication I was on, and then was like 'ok we'll check with endoscopy' - no other advice given even though I was in agony. I made the endoscopy appointment for 2 full months later. He didn't care about my pain at all or try to find another solution. I called multiple times and finally got in as soon as possible because there was a cancelation - got the endoscopy, there were anatomical things causing my issues, he prescribed medication (the one he didn't recommend?) and then sent me on the way. No follow up appointments requested or scheduled, no advice on lifestyle changes aside from 'lose weight' (which we know is a scapegoat as best, i've lost weight and sure enough, still in pain!). I was still in a lot of pain so i went out of my way to find a solution, which works on and off but i'm still in pain daily 4 months later. I'll be finding a new doctor.
Dr. Shieh is excellent! As a clinician, I highly recommend Dr. Shieh because of his thoroughness, accuracy and professionalism. His explanations and follow up plans are clear. I will definitely recommend Dr. Shieh to my friends, family, professional colleagues, and people in the community. David McSwigan PT
Dr. Shieh is very knowledgeable, very professional. I am lucky to find him as my doctor. He makes my procedure very pleasant and very comfortable. His entire team works very professional!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
