I consulted this doctor on May 14th 2021 as a self-paying patient visiting from India. I was asked to get some tests done. I got these done and these were sent to his office. My attempts to get a response from his office was totally unsuccessful despite more than 10 calls leaving a several messages for his medical assistant. I have see Dr. Venkatraman for a number of years. He is a very good doctor and will send you to a specialist for more tests if he thinks that is appropriate. I know know and understand why that I have certain problems only periodically. I see him occasionally just for follow-up if I think I need to or if I have another episode that I am uncomfortable with. He is through and a thoughtful doctor.

He seemed nice enough at first, but he sent me for tests and I never heard from him again. He never bothered to call me with results or to follow up, even after I left several messages with his office.

While the doctor is pleasant, his office staff are just plain incompetent. Try calling for a follow up appointment and you have to leave a message. You'll be lucky to get a call back. EMGs are being scheduled 2 months out. Its like being on a hamster wheel - going round and round on the phone being transferred from voicemail to voicemail. Seriously - if one didn't have bad migraines, dealing with this office would induce them.

Called at least 10 times to make an appointment. Always get voice mail.Left messages for his personal assistant, no one responds. Someone at St.Barnabas needs to look at how this office is run.

I agree with previous comments made about contacting the office. Is it too much to ask that someone picks up the phone? And then finally when you speak with someone its 2 months plus to see DR. Venkatraman. That's just cruel. How can he be so busy???? and what's the point of being an existing patient if you can't even speak to your own doctor or see him when you are not feeling well. Sad state of affairs.

Dr. Venkatraman is a decent doctor, but the whole office seems to work on voicemail...and no one calls you back. You have to leave a voicemail to make an appointment, you have to leave a voicemail to get your results - WHY CAN YOU NOT ANSWER THE PHONE PEOPLE????

He’s a good doctor. But, the average wait time is 1 hour!! He does not follow a timely schedule at all.
