List of Irms Institute For Reproductive Medicine And Science's Reviews
I have breast cancer. While my oncologist finalized my treatment plan, she recommended I consult with a fertility doctor in the event I needed chemotherapy. I consulted with Dr. Chen on a Thursday (zoom call). She said matter of fact I was going to have chemotherapy; something yet to be determined by my oncologist. She didn’t talk about the actual fertility process, just that IRMS helped to pass legislation mandating insurance companies add reproductive coverage for cancer patients. She said she would send videos explaining the fertility process and if I had more questions, she could answer them. She never actually discussed the process with me or made herself available to answer questions. Later that day, I received a call from a pharmacist about prescriptions for me. I hadn’t agreed to this process so I was confused why a pharmacist was calling me about medications. The following day I went into office for what I thought was a physical exam and blood work. While they did those things, I also met with a nurse. She also told me I would have chemotherapy (AGAIN something not decided by my oncologist at that point). She provide a print out of all the medications needed for the process and detailed instructions for administering the medication. She was actually the best part of this whole experience. I walked out of this meeting with medication and instructions to start the process MONDAY! IRMS pressured me to start the fertility process before it was deemed necessary or I was mentally/physically ready. Because IRMS rushed to begin the process, they didn’t get proper insurance approval for the medication. I almost had to pay thousands of dollars for medication that was covered by my insurance. They duplicated one prescription and forgot to write a prescription for a crucial medication. The mistake was not noticed until I needed to use the medication (on a Sunday when the pharmacy was closed). They say they are sensitive to their patients but, I literally saw them deny a cotton ball and bandaid to a patient. They treated me like just another number, complete with eye rolls and curt responses. The only time I ever saw Dr. Chen was on my first and last office visits. I had FOUR HIPAA violations in a two and a half week period. After the second violation I spoke with their director, Mary Fran. She assured me the receptionist and nurse would be spoken to. However, AFTER speaking to the director, the same violation occurred with another nurse and the receptionist made the SAME violation on my last appointment. I was so shaken by the last violation that I was doing everything I could not to cry in the office and had to be escorted out a back exit. They extracted 24 eggs. Of those eggs only 7 were frozen. When I asked why, Dr. Chen didn’t give an answer, but recommended a second round of egg harvesting. With FOUR HIPAA VIOLATIONS and countless other mistakes, I couldn’t believe she had the nerve to suggest I work with them again. I told her I was treated so poorly, if I had to choose between having a mastectomy or under go fertility again, I would have chosen the mastectomy. If I could give them zero stars, I would! IN NO WAY CAN I RECOMMEND ANYONE USE THEIR SERVICES!!!
IRMS was a fantastic place for me Dr. Margaret G. Garrisi, MDwas my doctor I chose the Livingston location because the office staff is the best it is a long process where you can quickly feel lost however, be sure to ask question my process was flawless and result in my beautiful baby Dr. Garrisi was my doctor not only is she amazing makes you feel comfortable about your journey she helps understand the odds of your journey with your circumstances and she is there every step of the way however if you have to do IVF you will interact with a lot of other doctors and techs which I was honored by having Dr Hessler and Dr cekleniak who both were down to earth and amazing during test and procedures I had done with them I was seen in the Livingston office there ultrasound team is nothing but amazing! So grateful to have this team on my journey of fertility
One of my close associates and I were recommend to IRMS, where we came across a great, social, patient and highly recommended medical assistant name Tymisha who we didn't know worked at the fertility department for 18 years and she was extremely professional, thorough and confidential with each of our medical records. Another patient brought to my attention that they haven't seen the same medical assistant in a while and thought she went to a different location. Last time I saw her, I asked her which doctor would she recommend and the feedback that was given I knew something wasn't right with how she was feeling. Then, the wonderful medical assistant spoke to me about how much she had been mistreated, bullied and belittled by her manager which was Mary Fran one of the Nursing Directors. I recently found out that the wonderful medical assistant was "let go" due to her speaking out regarding protocols not being done correctly, which is a health hazard and unsanitary . This is absolutely ridiculous and not acceptable in a professional/medical environment. Its hard to find good quality individuals in the medical environment. She will definitely be missed!
Run, do not even start your journey here. Disorganized, mismanaged, and just plain idiotic. Talia, the one nurse spoke to me like a child. Dr. Cecokoniak refuses to directly speak to patients unless they speak to her idiotic nurses first. She has a horrible God complex. I STILL cannot manage to get away from them, after 4 requests from my new doctor, and SIGNED RELEASE FORMS from me, they refuse to send my medical records out.
Run, do not even start your journey here. Disorganized, mismanaged, and just plain idiotic, this entire staff has NO business being in the medical field. Talia, is a nasty witch and she spoke to me like a child.
I went thru IVF with Dr . Margaret and I feel lost . This is my first time . When I got pregnant, she didn’t follow with the correct way with me and I lost my pregnancy after 3 weeks , I didn’t get any real explanation from her , all the proses I had seen her maybe twice but on the initial consultation I was told all the doctors are very involved . I use to had hard time to contact her and she use to act like a Business woman instead of doing her job as a doctor!!! The communication sucks but they want to get paid . Not to mention the financial coordinator is the worst . I feel uncertain and I don’t trust them anymore and not cause the transfer failed at the end but do to the lack of communication. We as patients pay good money and I should feel like I can trust my doctor. You can’t trust Sumone you don’t see And don’t remember you .I was just a number for her to make her a rich woman, never recommended her ( avoid Dr. Margaret )
Dr Hessler was/is our life saver! I still get emotional thinking about our journey. God really gave my husband and I the best team we could’ve asked for. After going through many years of failed cycles. We finally made the decision to visit Irms and we picked Dr Hessler. Best decision ever, she is very thoughtful, thorough and compassionate. I cried every time we had an appointment with her but she assured me that this too shall and will end in praise and happiness. Fast forward I know have a 3 month old healthy baby girl. I want to take this opportunity to thank the staff especially my nurse Jennifer G, Alisha R , Ashley G and the lady who draws blood. What an amazing team. Jason and I are forever grateful …
I cannot believe after a failed, heartbreaking attempt at fertility with IRMS in 2015 that I am still dealing with them. Unprofessional and unethical in their mishandling of our semen specimens. When our attempt failed, we in person signed all the paperwork to discard OUR semen specimens. In 2021, I received a TEXT telling me I had to start paying for the specimen storage. I texted back and told them to get their act together - and prove to US that they had discarded it SINCE IT WAS SIGNED BY US IN 2015. Then they called me, I told them I would not get anything notarized and they needed to check their files. Maria Montenez (we dealt with the IRMS in Livingston, NJ) said she would follow up with her supervisor. I sent a follow email as well on 6/12/2021. No response. On Father's Day 2021 (AGAIN - thank you for TEARING the scab over a wound that will never ever ever ever heal for us but was starting to scab over) we received a letter requiring the notarized signature. I've just sent another email to Ms. Montenez and also posted it on their facebook and facebook messaged IRMS as well. I cannot believe the incompetence and insensitivity of a "world renowned" fertility unit. I did have a terrible doctor while there, so I guess I should not be surprised. I never shared much about this journey because it our private journey but now years later, I'm fine sharing it if it helps save some other poor people the heartbreak that we are now reliving.
From the very first time I called and spoke to someone on the phone I was impressed! Dr. Debra Keegan and her staff are friendly, empathetic, knowledgeable and overall nice. I was even more happy with their service when I visited in person. They truly resemble in person what they reflect on the phone. They make you feel welcomed, cared for and like you matter. Talk about excellent care and customer service. I’m glad I found Dr. Keegan and her team they are nothing short of amazing! If you are looking for great empathetic care you found your place. Trust me you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend them :)
Came here for bloodwork. The staff was all super-nice and I would recommend this office! Zidaya drew my blood and was very gentle and kind, she also got my blood at the first attempt (has taken multiple attempts at quest recently. Thank you Zidaya & IRMS staff for everything today!
