I visited NJ Perinatal for an early anatomy scan for my first pregnancy in April 2021. I thought I would receive the same compassionate care I received in a prior appointment but the doctor I had that day was unsympathetic Dr. O'Brien. My appointment was a late Friday afternoon appointment - and unsympathetic Dr. O'Brien treated it like a late Friday afternoon appointment. He rudely told me and my husband that our first pregnancy was not viable for life outside of the womb. And he was in such a hurry to leave that he never informed the obgyn assigned to me this information. (The obgyn office is next door to NJ Perinatal too.) The midwife from the obgyn office called me two weeks after losing my baby inquiring how my pregnancy was going. I understand that we typically cannot control what happens if we lose a pregnancy, but we CAN control the doctors we have. And if you are given an appointment with the unsympathetic Dr. O'Brien, reschedule for another doctor. It'll save you emotional trauma.

Was fine during actual visit but then minutes later requested bloodwork without having a discussion with me first to see if this script was even necessary. Would've appreciated a little more face to face interaction to go over medical history before coming to a conclusion.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
