List of Louis Rizio's Reviews
Staff was friendly but the office didn’t follow HIPAA as they discussed private information with other patients while in the lobby. The doctor walked in the room as he was rush to leave, so it felt like I was keeping him in with every question. Long story short he probably will benefit from taking training in “Curricula for empathy and compassion training for doctors”. As per his competence, I’m not sure because he keep asking if I want to get a MRI, for what I said yes. He did not give me a detail of what was the plan when the results comeback for the suspected diagnosis, just keep saying that a mild spring or a tear will be fine with physical therapy and that pain is subjective
From first impression of Dr. Rizio to post-surgery to follow-up to release, 5 stars! Dr. Rizio was my second opinion who immediately requested additional and more thorough imaging of my shoulder. His diagnosis was a rotator cuff tear of my right shoulder which needed surgery to repair. In addition to his knowledge, his kindness-caring and patient bedside manner gave me extra confidence in him. My surgery was completely successful and smooth. This was not a painful surgery and recovery was exactly as Dr. Rizio explained. I highly recommend Dr. Rizio.

My husband tore his acl and a partial meniscus tear while playing soccer. We went to another doctor who looked at his mri and told him he didn't even have an injury (we knew by the pain, swelling and instability that he definitely did.) We booked an appointment with Dr Rizio who identified the acl tear (70%!) and discovered the other partial tear. He fully explained the injury and the options available. He was very thorough and kind. We chose surgery and my husband was back on his feet in less than 24 hours post-op. The operation went exactly as explained and the process was smooth. We're so thankful for Dr Rizio! Highly recommend.
I am a patient of Dr. Rizio and I really like this Dr... he was once with Summit Medical Group but have since relocated with another group.. unfortunately with this move it is very difficult to get in touch with this office ... every time I call I am on hold for more than half hour for someone to answer and take a message with no phone call back... I am in need of surgery and would like to have my surgery prior to the end of the year.. very disappointed. My rating is not for the Dr. this is for the staff.. I hope they come up with a better way to handle phone calls.
Dr. Rizio literally saved my life. He was in the summit Medical Group last year when I went to see him. I was having excruciating lef pain and the receptionist at SMG made an appt for me to see Dr Rizio. When I saw the Dr and told him my pain he said he was very sorry but they misdirected me because he is a sports medicine doctor, however seeing the pain I was in he sent me for an XRay. I did the X-ray and went right back to see him and he said I should Have an MRI of my hip to rule things out. Well that MRI showed that I had a bone marrow issue...which turned out to Be Multiple Myeloma. I started chemo a month later and now almost a year to the day I was diagnosed I am in remission. God bless you Dr. Rizio
I tore both of my shoulders and Dr. Rizio performed each surgery. I personally appreciate Dr. Rizio's "bedside manner" as I found him genuinely caring, but also direct and to the point. I don't need someone to caress me until I feel better - I needed a skilled surgeon who could get me back on the mats and Dr. Rizio did exactly that. I remember the office staff left much to be desired in terms of competence and general helpfulness, but I don't think that should detract from a skilled surgeon. If I had a choice between friendly staff and an "Ok" surgery, or waiting in an office for an hour for a doctor who could get me back to full (pre-injury) athletic performance, I'll take the latter any day. Two surgeries, on two separate shoulders, and I'm competing better than ever. Thanks, Dr. Rizio!
My visit with Dr. Rizio went well. But I want to say that his staff is excellent! They went out of their way to make certain that I was able to see him on short notice. Then Danielle made certain that I was able to get my MRI scheduled. She went above and beyond to make certain not only that I understood what I needed to get the appointment, but reached out to the MRI facility to confirm that they had all the information that they needed. Danielle is simply wonderful! Dr. Rizio is an excellent judge of character!
dr rizio replaced my knee i went home the next day & walked two weeks later no pain. a great dr . i would highly recommend him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
