I was there 6 months ago after my cervical spine fusion. The staff are so wonderful, caring, knowledgeable and yes they may push you but it is because they want you better. But they will not push you if you say I can't. Therapist ate wonderful and knowledgeable too.I had great care there. I pray I get to go there for my spinal cord lower back injury. Can't walk but I know they will try to get me to and what I do know too I received great care. Love the group therapy sessions too. I can honestly say this is the best rehab facility
Best rehab. OT, Nurses, aides, food. Great experience. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.
The nurses and physical therapist have done their job good. My issue is with the doctors and senior leader ship. I have had to speak with the CEO Kent Charlie. He told me he would be updating me and i have not gotten any calls from him after our time speaking. The way they act is not well. The reason I got a hold of him was due to how one of his directors treated me when I was trying to visit my mom. Now they have put it to only one family member only. Do not send your family member here!!!
My husband goes to outpatient here. Shanice at the front desk is amazing. Anytime I have a question or need help with scheduling she always is Courteous and professional. Elise in OT and Farris PT are our angels. They have been helping my husband regain his Mobility his improvement is beyond what we could have ever imagined. They give Him the motivation , support and encourage him l. We could not have asked for a better team. Thank you!
Our son was in a bad car accident and his rehab was at Kessler. This place is exceptionally clean, good therapy services and Doctor Kenneth Wu was a compassionate and caring doctor while our son was there and even after he was dismissed.
Yes, I would recommend Kessler the staff is friendly and encouraging. I had the pleasure of working with Ariana and her student G, for OT. For PT I had Liz . I was part of group OT that was lead by Sebastian. I love how the staff worked together. They day I arrived I meet my nurse J. She could tell I was nervous and she reassured my that I would be ok. The NA I had was was just as nice.(I don't remember her name Sorry) Over the course of my 17 day stay at Kessler I had the pleasure of meeting Linda, Brittany, Rebecca, Devin, Cat, Brooke, Julia, Heidi, Katelynn, Nanzal, Max, Richelle, Akayla, Natasha,Zack, Justine, Crystal, Kristen, Vanessa, Stanford, Cashmere, Tonia, and Elieen. There are some more names but I can't not remember them all. The food was delicious.
Inpatient and outpatient are absolutely amazing! My mother-in-law had a stroke and was given the best care here.We are currently still seeing a speech therapist for her (Beth and Jessica) and they are wonderful. Each person who has helped my mother-in-law was kind and very patient. I highly recommend them!!
Very attentive therapist had good outcome.
Very poor quality of care at this location. Do not bring your loved ones here. Horrible experience with all but 1-2 staff members. Refuse to give care during shift change regardless of safety of patients. Bugs in the rooms even in the beds. Very sad.
Absolutely horrible experience for a family member with a stroke. He disliked the food, they did NOTHING to help him eat or drink until he ended up severely malnourished/ dehydrated with an infection in the emergency room. When we mentioned he was not clean, the nurse refused to make eye contact or speak to anyone for 2 days. Based on reviews, maybe the place is good if you can speak up and care for yourself, but otherwise it is a death sentence.
My husband was ignored by the night nurses. They would come in his room and tell them they would be back and take hours to return. Discharged him and left him out to dry. When you call the number it just rings and rings. When I went to drop off drinks the lady was at the desk painting her nails. When you call and leave message no one calls you back and when they finally do they give a quick response to get off the phone. They say they will call back and you wait hours and most of the time you don't even get a call back and don't expect a call back after 5 because that isn't happening. We picked the wrong rehab for sure.
Waba and the staff are caring, knowledgeable and compassionate. I would highly recommend therapy services at this location.
Could not ask for a better experience. Therapists were phenomenal. Specials thanks and gratitude to my specific therapists, Milena, Michele and Marion. Every need was met and the meals were excellent. In an otherwise dim situation, the folks at Kessler were able to shed a bright light. Thank you Dr. Wu and Dr. Skobac. If you are going to Kessler you are in very good hands!
The outpatient therapists are the most caring and advanced in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area. I tried another reputable institution out of convenience and location, but the care was IMO inferior to that of Kessler. The Kessler therapists have been helping me since my 6/15/21 acute stroke, first as an inpatient where they got me back on my feet, following up with outpatient therapy. The outpatient staff have proven to pinpoint my deficits and create a specific care plan that is very challenging and effective. They explain the reasoning behind my assigned exercises so that I am able to achieve results while doing my individual home therapy. They take time to listen, and also offer excellent feedback. I have a long way to go until I am satisfied with my progress, but I am prepared because I now have some of the tools and knowledge needed in my ongoing recovery. I have also noticed how they worked with other patients, some of whom are worse off than me, and have seen their progress and improvements first hand. I am now in phase II of my therapy and the tasks given me have evolved to meet my current progress level. The front office administrators are also very knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and helpful.
My experience at KIR is excellent, they are very professional, prompt , patient, and polite. I take my hat off for their team work. Thank you KIR.
Wow. This place is horrible. With the exception of the front desk women. They're nice! But the therapists are awful, they do nothing but sit there and watch why they play on their phone. They DO NOT care about patients whatsoever!!! Don't go here!!!
Highly recommend Dwight as well as every other therapist at Kessler. The team from the front desk and the therapists are friendly and professional. My recovery has been long and tedious but with the knowledge and support from Dwight I am getting back to normal.
Kessler has amazing Physical Therapists, as a bilateral above knee amputee, I feel blessed to work with Andrea Varone for my prosthetic therapy. I've had several PTs over the years, but none with her knowledge of prosthetics, she's amazing and I highly recommend her for all amputees!!!
Cared about what my needs are..
I arrived on a Monday evening 5 days post-op with bilateral knee replacement surgery. My surgeon would not do both knees unless I would go to Kessler for rehab. When I got there, they had a wheelchair but no walker, and there was a grab bar on only one side of the toilet. When I informed the nurse that I hadn't used a wheelchair and had not learned to transfer to it and that I needed 2 handrails to get up off the toilet, they immediately got a walker and commode chair. It really helped to ease my mind! They were very accommodating to my dietary needs, and the dietary dept did everything they could to help me. The pharmacy reviewed my dietary supplements that I brought from home, and labeled them so I could take them every day.The entire time I was there, all of the nurses and nursing assistants were very kind and compassionate. If I needed assistance and rang the bell, it was promptly answered. The ratio of nurses and nursing assistants to patients is very low, so help is always at hand! The next day, the Occupational Therapist was there first thing to assist me with a shower and dressing. This was part assessment, to determine what sort of therapy I would need, and part educational, giving my strategies for washing and dressing myself. Physical Therapy was fantastic, each session building on the previous session and as I pushed on to improve everytime, the therapists were eager to help me do so in a safe manner. My main PT, Sarah, and main OT, Kaitlyn, were wonderful! They challenged me to improve, and were very encouraging. All of the OT/PT staff who worked with me the week I was there were fantastic. Once I demonstrated that I could consistently get out of bed on my own and go to the bathroom independently, they gave me permission to walk independently in the hall and to have my bed alarm turned off so I could get up whenever I wanted or needed to do so.I am now 2 weeks post-op, and home. I am continuing to improve every day. I would not be as far along in my recovery if it were not for the excellent care I received. If I ever need rehab again, I will insist on Kessler!
