Dr. Manders has been my dermatologist for 10 years or more. He has great bedside manner as well as being a great clinician. Always professional and on-time.

Dr. Manders is very friendly and he has a great “bedside manner”.

However Doctor Manders has himself listed for pediatric dermatology, it isn't for his bedside manner. I saw Doctor Manders around the age of 11-12 for severe eczema, which had caused a mild herpes simplex outbreak. With little exaggeration he walks in, does a brief exam, says that it's herpes and walks out, leaving me almost in tears. Nevermind that at that age you only understand herpes as an STD, and not something which can be acquired by anyone, and is almost unavoidable with eczema.

Saved My Life! Dr. Manders has been my dermatologist for close to 20 years. On a routine visit, he found a mole he thought looked suspicious. He did a biopsy & sent it to a lab & it came back negative. He still felt that there was something not quite right & sent it to a second lab. Thank goodness he did. I needed major surgery for what turned out to be Melanoma - the deadliest form of skin cancer. Dr. Manders used his experience & instincts - I highly recommend him & his practice.

I almost never write reviews and I've never left a medical office crying until I saw Dr. Manders. Despite a personal and family history of skin cancer, I hadn't seen a dermatologist in several years so I had a long list of concerns. Upon my first -- and only -- visit, a tech insisted that I tell her every one of them so that she could write them down. When Dr. Manders came into the room, he couldn't have looked less interested. He didn't even glance at the list and instead asked me to tell him the reasons I was there as if I hadn't just spent ten minutes going over them with his staff. Each time I HAD TO FORCIBLY PULL INFORMATION OUT OF HIM only to get him to practically grunt brief, incomplete answers. What causes this? Is it serious? Should I take care of it? Will it go away itself? What are my options for treatment or medicine? Nothing unless I asked a specific follow-up question. Me: My eye doctor says I might have rosacea. Dr.: blank stare Me: He says it might related to dry eyes. Dr.: Yes, it can. Me: Well, does it look like I have it? Etc... After each item he seemed impatient to leave. I had to keep saying, "I also need to ask about ..." He didn't even do a skin check for sun damage/cancer -- the most important and obvious thing -- and by that point in the appointment, I was nearly crying and couldn't bear to "bother" him for anything else. I reported this to the office manager by phone and after talking to him she said, "He doesn't remember it that way. And plus, he says he talked to you about eight conditions." Yeah, well my list had at least a dozen items on it. I don't know if his callous dismissiveness has anything to do with his being an old white man but it certainly begs the question. Either way, he should do society a favor and RETIRE.

I have personally seen Dr Manders. He has also seen 2 of my children. I’m surprised by the negative reviews. He has always been thorough and willing to answer questions. In addition, he explained the plan if follow up visits were required. This is a VERY busy office. It’s very hard to get an initial appointment, but once you are an established patient, you don’t always have to wait a long time to be scheduled. As far as wait times, I noticed at my last visit that 3 of us had 9am appts. It’s impossible to run on time when you are being triple booked. I did have to wait about 30 min to be seen, but he did not rush through my visit. I personally wait at every physician that I see, so this does not come as a surprise. Medicine is a business. I will say that anytime they are supposed to send a Rx electronically, I have to call and remind them to do it. I call the pharmacy and check to see if it’s filled because I know the office staff is not reliable. They will tell you to wait until the end of the day to go to the pharmacy. Sometimes, I wait until the next day, and it still hasn’t been done. Once I call, they promptly take care of it.

Dr. Manders does a great job explaining the issues and he has done two procedures on me. Both pain free and completely successful

Absolutely Shocked at some of the other reviews. It took him seconds to come up with the Diagnosis and then spent a lot of time explaining what I had and need to do. He called me throughout the week to see how I was doing. I truly had a great experience.

We had to cancel an appointment due to having a death in the family. We were unable to get another appointment for more than two months out. When the doctor saw my child for the first time, he didn't listen to our concerns and he was in the room for maybe 5 minutes and that is being generous. Seems to me that they are overbooked and are lacking in patient care. We are very disappointed with the care received.
