Heartless
I found Dr. Mortensen to be caring and highly knowledgeable. If we had more clinicians like her, we all would have fewer problems.
I've been going to this office for almost 20 yrs. Dr Mortensen is truly one best. She very thorough, has compassion, and great personality. The staff is wonderful and always friendly
I was experiencing tightness in my neck. She sent me for various tests. The call from the nurse said I had an enlarged thyroid but when she called me back because I had insurance issues she said it was a cyst. If you've never been through it, that can be a very scary difference to hear. At my next OV, which I had because I was losing my voice, I asked her to clarify and why I was told two different things. She immediately became confrontational and talking down to me and just rattled a bunch of medical terms to me. None of which answered my question. As for my voice, she then asked me, "what do I expect her to do" and why didn't I go to an ENT. I implied I thought the loss of my voice had to do with my thyroid since it never happened before and was at the same time as that issue. She said the thyroid is "no where near" the vocal cords and couldn't be the cause. My endocrinologist later scoffed at this. I walked out that day and refuse to return.
Dr. Mortensen is a good listener. She really seemed to care about me. She explained everything thoroughly and told me to call if I had any questions before our next appointment. She is just the kind of doctor America needs!
She said I hadn't been there in two years (which is false) and refused to refill a Paxil script for me until I came in for an appointment and paid $60 for missed appointments. I tried to clear up the issues she had, but she refused to listen to me. Instead, she had me go off Paxil cold turkey and have severe withdrawals.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
