My experience with Dr. Rachid Assina was amazing. I had a herniated disc and he helped me find out what better treatment for my problem was. The doctor and all the staff were extremely helpful and supportive.

After a terrible, unlucky accident I was lucky enough that Dr Assina was on call when I was at the ER and found out I broke the C2 in my neck. I needed screws and C1, C2, and C3 fused. Dr Assina was remarkable not only in his stellar surgical ability but also in his calming, caring bedside manner. I cannot thank him and his fantastic staff enough for “fixing” me and being there to answer all of my questions during my recovery. I highly recommend Dr Assina, I’m thankful and grateful for him!

Due to a fall, I had a spinal chord compression injury that was very painful and causing me to lose the function of my right leg. After review of my mri, my orthopedist recommended Dr. Assina for prompt, specialized, surgical intervention. Dr. Assina evaluated my condition, (I also have spinal stenosis and diabetes) and assured me that he could alleviate my pain and preserve my leg function. He performed a T11-T12 decompression and fusion, that brought immediate relief of pain. Recovery is ongoing but I now can walk longer than before injury and without both legs hurting. I can also bend lower and pick up newspapers on the floor. At all times Dr. Assina was kind, compassionate, humble, honest, encouraging and professional, explaining what he could and could not do for me. His staff, especially Brittany, is caring, thorough, responsive, smart, and very helpful. I would highly recommend Dr. Assina to anyone requiring expert spinal surgery.

My experience with Dr Assina was amazing! For a whole year i could not walk i have 3 herniated discs in my lower back. I visited 3 surgeons but i felt they were acting like robots not caring about their patients.. when i find out about Dr Assina he make me feel that i was talking to a human being who cares about people. He took the time to called me and texted me to find out how i was post the surgery. He makes me feel so confortable. The same day of the surgery i was able to walk without pain.. now it has been a month from my surgery and i don't have pain and i feel so grateful with Dr Assina and team. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Assina and his entire team are fantastic! I had life-threatening brain trauma and Dr. Assina saved my life. I could not be more grateful! His skills, professionalism, and bedside manner are second to none! Furthermore, his team and support organization are top tier as well. Brittany Todaro in particular is wonderful to work with. She is very organized, efficent and cheerful! Best organization I have worked with in the medical arena.

I went to the ER with a sudden, life threatening spinal cord injury and am so thankful that Dr. Assina was the neurosurgeon on call at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville that evening in April of 2020. After two separate surgeries I was pretty much paralyzed (but living!) and placed in a long term care facility for 15 months. Fortunately, the damaged to the spinal cord was not permanent and I am home and mobile after two years of hard physical therapy. And lots of surgical hardware in place! Dr. Assina is highly skilled, extremely professional and compassionate beyond expectations. He communicated honestly with my family: the good, the bad and the ugly. He made himself available to me at anytime, with any concerns, which was very comforting. After a two year review I was just discharged as an active patient, as his work is done…I will miss him! PS: Brittany was just as awesome!

From their first moment that I met dr Assina he showed me nothing but love and care. He made me feel at ease even though I had to have two different types of surgery. Dr Assina went out his way to make me feel so comfortable and assured me that I was going to be ok. He treated me as if I was his family. Def recommend this amazing doctor.

Dr. Assina and his team is the best period. Where to begin to say thank you to him and his team especially Dr. Assina and Brittany. I had extreme neck pain and shoulder pain for many years and finally decided to get the surgery I needed. I started out only getting a prognosis of 2 vertebrae that needed to have fusion but ended up being 3. From beginning to end Dr. Assina and Brittany made me feel confident in my decision and after the surgery they were both very involved. He is the ONLY Dr. that has EVER given me a cell phone number to call, where I felt that he genuinely cared for his patient as a person. He would check in on me on the weekends and text me during the week to see how I was doing. Now, 6 months later I am getting back to more normalcy and I still have amazing service from the practice. I am truly blessed to have found them and have Dr.Assina perform my surgery. Thank you Dr. Assina and Brittany for everything!

Dr Assina was a god send to my family, a true blessing. I had lumbar surgery and my husband had a cervical fusion of 4 vertebrae. Before my surgery, I could barely walk to pain in my groin, which was caused by a herniated disk between L1 & L2. Another doctor asked me what would you like to be able to do? I told him to be able to walk around the block again. After my surgery and recovery, I can walk, garden and dance again. My husband has been suffering for years with pain in his neck, down his arms until his fingers were numb. He was prescribed pain meds and became addicted. He met several surgeons throughout the years, but each one frightened him more, that the surgery would not help and might even do more damage. As soon as we met Dr Assina, we knew that his was the one, the good soul to help us to restart my husband's life again. The surgery was long, the recovery has been long, but he is on the road to recovery. His brain no longer is obsessed with the pain. He is free to live agai
