List of Elena Nirenberg's Reviews
I was a new patient coming to this doctor with depression. She only addressed the issue at the end of the 10 minutes, maybe, she was willing to give me because I raised the matter. I had another issue, neuropathy, I wanted addressed but she told me they didn't know what caused that,so she recommended nothing. She asked me how I got the problem???? She suggested acupressure??? My impression, she could not get me out soon enough. Couldn't care less.
cannot make an apt. conversations have to go thru the welfare to work tech support. they wanted me to go to a germ infected ER or urgent care facility....THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONCERN NOT !!
I have been a patient of this office for 15 years. Unbeknownst to me I had an outstanding bill for a measly $50. I would have gladly paid it. Instead, Riverside Medical Group reported this to credit reporting agencies. They wanted to harm me financially. Well done Riverside Medical Group. I am no longer a patient of your office.
I have only had wonderful experiences with Dr. Nirenberg. She is patient, caring, and is open to a variety of intervention approaches which many other MD’s are not. I have sent many friends to her, and all of them are very grateful to have found Dr. Nirenberg. Additionally, my mother, who has dementia, loves her as well. She is one of the few doctors my mother goes to with whom I do not need to intervene or translate what my mother is saying, and if my mother tries to change the subject or “shade” her answer to mislead the doctor, Dr. Nirenberg is tuned in enough to catch it and get to the truth.Dr. Nirenberg is smart, well and broadly educated, and is extremely caring. Beyond dealing with health challenges, she will work with you to help or increase your quality of life and level of health for the long term if you work with her. I have nothing but gratitude for her entering my life.
Saw Dr Nirenberg for a case of poison ivy - I was already taking prednisone for 6 days and it hadn't helped. She barely looked at me the whole 3 minutes she was in the exam room with me. She sat with her back to me typing on her computer. When I tried to ask questions, she was very dismissive. I had to beg her to give me a steroid cream because the itch was so bad. Her remedy was apple cider vinegar and baking soda. She couldn't get out of the room fast enough. Will never go back to this practice.
I have been a long time patient and like Dr. Nirenberg. But under the new management (Riverside) communication with patients is terrible. There is no patient portal or website for communicating with your doctor or getting messages or accessing your records - the practice used to have that when affiliated with Advocare. Today I went to an appointment only to be told that the doctor was not in the office. Apparently, she had to cancel my appointment and tne front desk claims that I had been notified by phone but that did not happen. I checked my phone records and someone did call my house but no-one talked to them and they did not leave a message. I am disappointed that a quality practice has fallen down so badly under the Riverside Medical management system. I hope they will change companies.
She's strange. You go in for a certain reason and she'll spend most of the time talking about your weight. She once told me "gluten in USA is bad ; but gluten in Italy is better. But since you're in the USA you need to follow the paleo diet." Huh? Very bizarre. I guess she was fairly nice but I didn't feel like she really wanted to be a traditional doctor. She wants to be holistic but not call herself holistic since that would distance patients.
Dr. Nirenberg takes great care to support her patients. She treats them with respect, patience, and listens with great care when they share information with her. She is very caring and kind. We can usually get to see her within a day or two, though the other docs at her practice are also good. She will work WITH you to help you find your greatest level of health, not just cure a sickness or problem. All in all, this doctor is fantastic if you want more than just a pill to “fix” everything.
Dr Nirenberg spends quality time with every single patient. She does not rush you out the door and throw a script at you. She listens to your concerns and will always offer ways to treat your concerns with diet change, posture change, physical therapy, etc. She will explain every answer in detail, which I appreciate to every extend, especially with my teenagers. She does not make you feel like you are a lesser intellectual (like so many doctors do). Thank you Dr Nirenberg!
She is one of a rare few doctors these days that don't just throw medicines at a problem. For my condition she offered to help with a change in diet and this has been the best solution over medicine. She is very thorough and compassionate. Highly recommend.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
