All doctors should be looking to Dr. Mazzola for lessons on best practices and treatment towards patients. I've come across many, many doctors in my lifetime...many of them "bigwigs" in NYC...no one can ever compare to our incredible experience with her. Patient, kind, funny, thorough...even drew pictures to help my daughter understand what the problem was in her brain and how they can fix it...she's honest, empathic, and genuine. My 12 year daughter could not believe how this incredible well known doctor actually spoke to her directly. Usually its doctors talk to the parents and maybe give the child a sideways glance every now and then....this was the reverse. And if your child is going to feel as ok as possible about getting brain surgery, they need to feel connected and respected by the doctor. Dr. Mazzola is a rarity and I feel so blessed to have been referred to her!

Dr Mazzola, her smile and her welcoming factor alone is superb.. very friendly, lovely, down to earth and very knowledgeable I was relieved by the way she explained things to me when I met her concerning my daughter’s situation which was really nothing. Catherine A. Mazzola, MD saved my life on 9/19/10 when she was called upon to perform an emergency surgery on a 15y.o. with a ruptured AVM 13 years later I now work in healthcare and have a child of my own thanks to Dr mazzola and her skills and surgical team I would highly recommend Dr mazzola to anyone for her skills and professionalism
