List of Debra J Margulies's Reviews
I made an appointment for my daughter who was diagnosed with an endocrine disorder by her primary care physician. We specifically chose to make the appointment with Dr. Margulies because she was recommended and my daughter was confident that she could help her with her symptoms. The appointment was made for the summer, the only time that she is home from college which is in the midwest. As the appointment approached, we got a message that her appointment was canceled and when I called, I discovered that the reason was because "the doctor has made the decision to only see patients already diagnosed with thyroid disease." Instead, we were offered appointments with more inexperienced doctors my daughter has no interest in seeing. When I requested the other doctor with plenty of experienced, Dr. Nevin, we were told she's too booked up. Now we are left with trying to find someone for next summer. This office needs some professionalism and ethics. Not at all impressed.
Canceled an appointment for June after my daughter waited 6 month for this appointment and my daughter is only back from college over the summer. She carefully chose Dr. Margulies after being diagnosed with an endocrine disorder and was looking forward to see her because she has been suffering with symptoms. The office said that this Doctor decided she only wants to see patients already diagnosed with a thyroid disorder. I guess she wants to make things easy for her and eliminate the more challenging cases. We were offered appointments with more inexperienced doctors and told we could not see Dr. Nevin too because she was booked too. Very unprofessional. Not at all impressed. I implore this office to get some ethics.
Dr. Margulies is a thorough,, knowledgeable and compassionate provider. I strongly recommend her.
Also was a patient of Dr. Stocks, however, I didn’t know they were connected when I visited several years ago. My general practitioner told me to bring notes, so I did. As soon as I took them out, Dr. Marguiles looked at me, said we’ll run a few tests, but it’s not your thyroid. And before receiving ANY results, told my insurance, that I am obese, due to excessive calorie intake....WOW! Way to listen to your patient! So, because I’m obese, I’m now also a liar! Do not go here and expect to be treated like a human if you’re looking for answers!
We moved to New Jersey about a year ago. After seeing an excellent New York endocrinologist for over eight years, my wife and I started seeing Dr. Margulies for thyroid and diabetes, respectively. Dr. Margulies is thorough, patient and caring and does an excellent job explaining her diagnoses and recommendations.
Office staff is very difficult to reach and they do not follow through. You are on the phone waiting for far too long. They give wrong information in scheduling. I really need to find another endocrinologist because the office staff is too difficult to work with and it becomes very frustrating.
Dr. Margulies and Summit Medical Group are wonderful, Dr. Margulies is very thorough, She was able to confirmed my thyroid cancer while other Doctors were not sure. Love the fact that all the Doctors a Summit Medical Group work together and are able to see the patients history in their system including lab work that is also done in their premises. I see some of the people that have review Dr. Margulies have given her a low review, which is very unfair these reviews are about about appointments , THIS DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE DOCTOR, it has to do more with the people whom are doing the scheduling; if you are going to rate a doctor it should be if you already have met him or her, diagnosis, treatment, bedside manners, not because the Doctor did not come out to deal with scheduling appointments. Drs are dealing with peoples health which is a lot more important than dealing with schedules. I highly recommend Dr. Margulies, Dr. Gadiraju, and Dr. Most, also I am very grateful to them
Just saw Dr. Margulies who is a wonderful, patient, caring individual. She called me personally to give me the results of my blood work, explaining all the necessary steps and concerns that needed to be addressed. I highly recommend her. I am a new patient, so I understand how frustrating a phone receptionist can sometimes be, but that is no reflection on Dr. Margulies.
Dr. Margulies is always on time, very thorough, and takes the time to explain options clearly if there is an issue.
I am very blessed to have found Dr. Margulies when my Dr. retired. I had thyroid cancer and had surgery in NY, told all was clear and I was cancer free. My previous Dr. agreed, but Dr. Margulies did extensive tests, and found the cancer was still in my system. She has been working with me to get this taken care of, and hopefully cancer free. She is a Godsend!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
