Dr. LAZAR saved my daughter 15 years ago. I'm so very grateful for him. Nobody wanted to remove a rare tumor from her stomach. He stayed after his hours to meet her when we were transported to the hospital. This doctor was very caring. Thank you again. My daughter wants to meet him again to say thank you.

BEWARE!! This surgeon assessed my 2 yo daughter for a lump that developed from her abdomen. Dr. Lazar recommended surgery to remove the mass. After getting a 2nd opinion, we were directed to children’s hospital of Philadelphia, thank God for that! We found out that surgery was in NO WAY necessary for treatment. We learned that all surgeons, don’t always know what’s best and some, like Dr. Lazar, are quick to make decisions with little concern about slicing open a toddler for no good reason.

Dr. Lazar removed my sons CPAM at 3 months old. After being discharged a few hours later he was crying hysterically I called dr. Lazar whom Called me back asap. I recommend him to everyone

Arrogant.

Dr Lazar performed a fistulotomy on our 7 month old son after he was diagnosed with a perianal abscess at 4 weeks old. According to Dr Lazar this is standard practice and it would heal.... well it didn’t and on a follow-up visit from surgery he saw that another abscess had formed and decided to put a qtip into my sons abscess to try to quarantine it with no numbing or medication. My son screamed at the top of his lungs for 3 hours after that, not being able to calm him no matter what we did. We decided we would not go back to him and went to CHOP to see another surgeon who advised us that surgery before 1yo is no longer advised as most of the time, these abscesses go away. We waited and just around when my son turned 1, everything healed. Dr Lazar did unnecessary surgery on our son, and also causes our son a tremendous amount of pain for no reason. He has absolutely no bedside manor at all and I would not recommend him to anyone

I do not know what the good reviews are for. I brought my son to Morristown hospital and have had a terrible experience. The medical handling of my son's perforated appendix was a nightmare. They waited for surgery too long and left my son tortured throughout the night. Delayed responses to urgent need for care continuously. Dr. Lazar, who had zero bedside manor conducted the surgery and we have not seen him since...we have interns and 1st year residents evaluating and making calls that brought my son to have another urgent medical care situation which was the result from Dr. Lazar opting not to put in an NG tube as a preventative measure after surgery which brought my son..again..3rd time in 3 days at this hospital into an obscene level pain situation which took an intern 10 min to arrive to try (no sense of any urgenct) to assess the situation (by poking someone in writhing pain) only to need a more expetienced resident to assess the situation. Needless to say, an NG tube had to be put in to a 14 year patient who had been through enough discomfort already. Dr. Lazar and the interns and residents did a inept job at handling this case. The decisions that were made with his fluids and medications as well as the overlooking of his inability to eat or drink, led to the unfortunate event and pain my son had to suffer through. The only doctor who offered any competency was resident Dr. Flanigan. I came to Morristown for the best treatment for my son and this experience was nothing short of low rate, disappointing and unacceptable.

Dr. Lazar is what every pediatric physician should be...well educated and experienced, good bedside manner, and actually listens to the child as the patient- not just parents. He made my daughter feel safe both before and after surgery. He also did a PHENOMENAL JOB on her surgery- fixing what my girl needed to get back to herself. WONDERFUL surgeon and staff!!

Dr. Lazar did a minor surgery on my son 2 and 4 years ago. My son is transgender and the treatment he received from him and his staff was extraordinary. Once he learned my son’s preferred name (rather than the legal one on the charts), he ALWAYS called him the preferred name, used the correct pronouns and made sure the staff at the OR & recovery did as well. He actually made a point to ask me if anyone slipped and used the wrong name or pronoun so he could address the issue (no one did). He was comforting to my terrified kid. He also did such a good job that there is no visible evidence where the incision was made. I’d definitely recommend him and will use him again.

Dr. Lazar operated on me more than a decade ago, when I was a 14 year old. As a very scared child, he was an extremely calming presence, and he took the time to explain to me what he was going to do and why he was going to do it. I still think about how kind he was, and how he affected my life. - Hugh

Dr. Eric Lazar is a phenomenal surgeon who saved our daughter's life a few years ago. He has true compassion and knowledge beyond what you find in many doctors today. He took the time to explain the surgery and how it could benefit our child. I highly recommend him to any parent who needs a knowledgeable and trustworthy surgeon for their child. He is a doctor who truly cares about the well-being of his patients.
