Lowell S Kabnick's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Kabnick was chosen by our family (based on recommendations) to perform a series of vascular operations on my elderly grandmother. He was recommended by a medical referral agency that we trusted and was said to be the best in the field. My mother met with the doctor at his office in Manhattan. She specified that we wanted Dr. Kabnick to perform all the procedures. The doctor made it clear that he would be performing all three operations. He did the first two operations as planned. On the day of the third operation, he came into the operating room tired and exhausted, having been busy with his daughter who had given birth and with whom he had spent time in the hospital (that's not part of his job as a surgeon, last time I checked). So he came into the operating room but didn't perform the surgery, instead he had his associate, who didn't know what he was doing, perform the operation.He didn't tell us that he wasn't going to perform the surgery until my grandmother was inside on the operating table, and my mother had already left the room. The associate started cutting the wrong way. Dr. Kabnick had to guide him to cut in the opposite direction and had to guide him throughout the rest of the surgery. My grandmother lay there on the operating table, in a panic. Basically, Dr. Kabnick and his associate decided to experiment on my grandmother.The next day after the surgery, she developed a serious infection in her leg, accompanied by a high fever. She ended up having septic shock and had to spend an extended period of time in the hospital, and then in a rehab facility. After that, her health was never the same. She just deteriorated. She passed away a few years later.If you are looking for a surgeon you can trust, go elsewhere.

I do NOT recommend him. He will take you for every penny you have and leave you in the same condition you first walk into his office. Find another doctor.

Had my vein surgery with Dr. Kabnick and couldn't be more satisfied. I was treated with expertise and feel so much better now. I am very happy I found him and now know that my vein problems are going to be managed and monitored. If you have varicose veins, spider veins, or leg vein issues you must get into see Dr. Kabnick.

Dr. Kabnick is a true gem! He is an extremely knowledgeable surgeon with a kind and compassionate demeanor. I have recommended him to family and friends who have sought care for their varicose veins.

I met with Dr Kabnick recently and I was extremely impressed with his knowledge and sincerity regarding my condition. I had been to another doctor before that for a consultation and he lacked the confidence that was displayed by Dr Kabnick. I went forward with my surgery and could not be happier!

Have already recommended Dr. Kabnick to several friends. Never felt better after my procedure. Dr is very thorough, knows his stuff! I wish I hadn't put it off for so long.

A nasty, rude man that needs an attitude adjustment. Wonder if he would like his family members treated with disrespect.

Office staff disorganized~had an appointment in December 2016 & arrived to be told MD in Europe & my appt never written in MD schedule (only appt card handed to me). Next visit I'm called 5 minutes before appointment to be told I will need to wait 3 to 4 hours or reschedule. Again, given an excuse that MD was coming in late. My round trip is just under 2 hours. I arrived & waited 1/2 hr to have Ultrasound. After that procedure waited another 1/2 hr to discuss results.
