I was debating whether to write this, but I feel in my heart it’s necessary. We brought my 5 month old in because his pediatrician was worried his head might have fused together too soon.. that was it. The whole two hours there it felt like a sales pitch for a helmet. (Which I am not against, but that wasn’t the reason for our visit) The doctor then told me my son needs an X-ray.. and made me feel like a bad mom for questioning radiation and gave me an attitude and rolled her eyes. Told me, let’s try the helmet first then, and see if it fixes the problem. The next day they called me two time and my husband one time in the matter of 45 minutes to schedule a follow up to go over the X-ray, which we never even scheduled to get done.. which felt a bit pushy to me. Fast forward, I brought my son for a second opinion elsewhere, and got told he DID NOT need an X-ray, the X-ray wouldn’t show what we needed to see, and putting a helmet on, would just be a solution to his head being misshaped, and not getting to the cause of it. For a neurosurgeons office, I am completely disappointed.
ZERO STARS, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! Doctor is on "leave" a few days before the confirmed appointment - after waiting for several months, they "try to reschedule" with little to no notice at a different office even further away from the current office appt. I schedule time off work to make it to these appointments and respect my employment to give them weeks' notice of my time off. I do not care for a reschedule, keep my appointment or stop taking patients. I don't blame the receptionist but the doctors for not caring about their patients.
My family has had the privilege of being under Dr. Kurnitzer's care for over six years, and I can confidently say he is probably the nicest doctor I have ever met. What truly sets him apart is his genuine compassion; he truly cares and listens attentively to every concern. Beyond his incredible bedside manner, Dr. Kurnitzer and his entire clinic are consistently professional, exceptionally efficient, and remarkably responsive. This combination has made navigating our child's neurological care over the years as smooth and supportive as possible. We have profoundly benefited from his care and expertise. I genuinely feel that my son has gotten better with his disabilities and special needs directly because of Dr. Kurnitzer's dedicated guidance. I understand that it's very hard to get an appointment to see him, but I can honestly say that it's worth the wait. I genuinely recommend Dr. Kurnitzer to any family seeking a pediatric neurologist who combines top-tier medical knowledge with unparalleled empathy and a truly listening ear. Writing this review is the least I can do to express our gratitude. Thank you Doctor. To you and to all the team!
This place is horrendous, I would not recommend at all. They have horrible hours for working parents. My son was initially seen in Sept. of 2024, he was due to be seen again a few months later, then the Doctor cancelled they appointment and pushed it back to May 2025. My wife was three minutes late after the grace period and was refused to be seen and rescheduled for Sept. of 2025. At this point, my son won't have had a follow up for an entire year. This is completely unacceptable. We as parents work and take time off work to do this visits since there hours of operation are ONLY during work hours. I would recommend anyone looking for a neurologist to go elsewhere. Horrible customer service, horrible hours, and a complete lack of empathy for working parents. Now my son will suffer because of their lack of flexibility or understanding. Also, good luck getting through to the office, each time you call expect to be on hold for at least 20 minutes and even then you might just get hung up on. I highly question any positive review on here. There are many negative reviews and they are all similar to mine. They'll respond with a dismissive and generic response but won't do anything to correct the issues. I see a review on here from a year ago in which the office responded at being better with the wait times when calling in and as I'm typing this now I've been on hold for 16 minutes. We will be looking for a new provider moving forward - never going back here again. I finally got someone on the phone after 22 minutes on hold. Excellent customer service....
I took my son for a test to the Morristown location on 4/13/25. We were instructed to arrive 15 min prior to the appointment time. We ended up waiting over an hour and a half. Only to have the doctor come in, perform a full physical which had already been done, and tell us that the tech who performs the testing wasn’t in and the appointment would need to be rescheduled. No one saved us the time of coming there on a Sunday morning by giving the respect of a phone call. No one cared that we sat there for over and hour and a half. And then when I called and spoke to Adrianna on Monday, to request my co-pay back and that my insurance not be billed, she promised to call me back by the end of the day. That was 4-14-25. I’m writing this on 4-23-25 and still no call back. Not only did I not receive a call back but I’ve called 3 times and still no call back. As a matter of fact I was just on with another girl in the office. She put me on hold and never came back. I called back and now the office is closed. What a joke.
My name is Raquel (Alara is my middle name). I was not going to leave a review out of respect and courtesy, but since I received a letter of discharge in the mail that feels retaliatory a review is due. We waited 9 months for appointment with Dr. Jeffrey Kornitzer (follow-up). I left work one hour before since I am in Morristown. I had to drive from Morristown, pick up my son from school at Paramus and take him out of his routine, and then I had a work meeting at 2pm that I was not allowed to reschedule. My son and I arrived half an hour early and waited an hour to see the doctor. I had to leave due to timing. I needed time to drive my son back to school and get myself ready for a 2pm client meeting. There was no consideration of my time, the fact that I took my son out of school and disrupted his routine, and that I MUST return back to work. This is not the only incident in which the staff or doctor had any regards for the patient’s timing. To get an appointment even with the nurse practitioner when requested in September 2024, the earliest was December 2024. My son’s school was demanding that my son obtained services. I felt completely left in the wind without support for my child from September- December. I had to desperately seek services else where considering my son is in private school that does not have a 504 plan or class aides. Dr. Kornitzer was very unforgiving of my time when he was late for the appointment. He doubled booked himself. If it was the other way around, the office would have charged me a late fee. We work too! We have a schedule as well. I find the entire experience from start to finish very one-sided with no regards for the parent’s time or child’s time in all aspects. Dr. Kornitzer did not take the time to even listen to me. He said, “this relationship will not work” without even asking what the problem is. There was No regards that I had to go back to work and drop off my son back at school. There was no Empathy. I would love to charge the office for my time that was wasted. Two and a half hours from start to finish! The correct approach that Dr. Kornitzer should have taken was to apologize for being half an hour late and to offer a rescheduled appointment first availability (not 2- 10 months down the road). That would have been the most morally correct approach, but perhaps he was having a bad day and was upset that he was not going to be paid for my visit. Accountability, empathy of the situation, and a rescheduled visit should have been provided considering the fault was on the other court.
Such a sweet group of ladies at the front desk!
It was extremely helpful. The doctors were really nice.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
