If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. I have Hashimoto’s and was diagnosed at 19 and this was the first time seeing an endocrinologist in 14 years. Dr. Shafqat was great during the appt even though I really only saw a resident, which was fine. However, I did write a list of symptoms and concerns I did want to discuss during said session but didn’t get a chance because once Dr. Shafqat came in, the appt soon turned into less about my thyroid and more about insulin resistance. She ordered bloodwork and keep reiterating that if my insulin was high she’s out me in a small dose of metformin but NEVER mentioned anything about what she would do if my thyroid results came back abnormal which is weird because that was the WHOLE point of the appointment. Whatever, I get my bloodwork done the next day and my results are in the following day. Low and behold my tsh is actually elevated which it has never been since I have diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. I couldn’t believe it. All the other results were normal. I waited the next day because I figured the office would call or message saying hey your tsh is high. NO, I got nothing so I had to message the office. Well, let me tell you I spoke to Nurse Sue G and immediately she made me seem like I didn’t know what I was talking about. She told me Dr. Shafqat didn’t order the labs so I informed her she did, through the resident dr. She also asked if I had any symptoms. So I explained the symptoms I was having. The next message I received from “Nurse Sue G” was the most gaslighting message I have ever received from any medical professional. She proceeded to tell me that my tsh was mildly elevated (6.54) and my t3/t4 were fine (which they were.) However, for someone and I told her this, who has always had normal levels I found this abnormal. Technically, optimal tsh should be functioning at 1or2, anything above should be looked into. The worst part for me was that she told me my symptoms were not thyroid disorder but thyroid response to stress. And that my Hashimoto’s is not affecting my thyroid. Which I don’t understand because I don’t think that’s how it works. I wasn’t just diagnosed yesterday, it’s been 14yrs living with these symptoms. So I replied asking if Dr. Shafqat could order a full thyroid panel and maybe additional bloodwork to double check because tsh/t3/t4 are not always helpful. That was on May 10 and it’s May 18 and the office never replied back not even to say no or explain. Nothing! I mean I’ve never felt so dismissed as a patient before. Thankfully, I messaged my primary and explained my symptoms and she right away looked at my labs and said probably your thyroid. Then saw my insulin was high even though the labs said they were normal. I apologize for this long rant but Nurse Sue G and Dr. Shafqat should be reported to the board because this is no way how to handle patients. I mean, come on when someone is telling you they’re experiencing symptoms and their tests come back elevated why tell them it’s not true? Just what a disgrace to the medical community.

I went to see her regarding osteoporosis a year ago and she was so abrupt and rude I was almost in tears.

This doctor is horrible. Do not go to her. I have had hypothyroidism for 30 years and when she told me she was going to decrease my thyroid medication I questioned her because it seemed as if she was going the wrong direction with my medication. She also didn’t want to get another blood test for 4 months. I was exhausted, sluggish I gained 20 lbs. I got my yearly physical from my regular doctor and my blood results showed my thyroid was dangerously elevated over 4 times higher than the healthy range (17.7). This doctor should lose her license. Thankfully my regular doctor is helping me get back to a healthy range again. I will never go back to this practice and I wouldn’t recommend going to her. She has really messed up my body. I am fighting depression also caused by this thyroid misdiagnosis. She should be ashamed. Im mad at myself for trusting her.

It is extremely hard to get in touch with anyone associated with her office I had an appointment canceled on there end and when I rescheduled I had to wait over 6 months before I am able to again I believe it’s almost me a year and a half. I don’t believe she has a good support team working with her in my opinion and there answering service is like trying to get through a brick wall I personally love when I am able to communicate with the doctor but it’s honestly not worth all this difficulty.

Dr. Uzma Shaftqat was very helpful and knowledgable. i was seen very fast. She helped me understand everything about my condition as English is not my first language. This doctor is wonderful. I am very thankful. Maria

Unfortunately this office, doctor and her team do not do their job. I've seen Dr. Shafqat twice in the last 1.5 years. I saw her in October 2021 to have my yearly labs done. She was great in person, listened, took her time, I was pleasantly surprised. BUT once the appointment was over that was the end of my treatment with her. I had labs done, she didn't submit one of my labs and said, we'll just check in in 2 months....why can't you just add to the order now? That's plain lazy. Secondly, once labs were back, the nurse "Nurse Sue G" kept telling me she submitted my Rx, I kept telling her Walgreens didn't receive and she was adamant about it, so I had to have another doctor prescribe for me since she wouldn't submit it. What is the point in seeing the doctor if her team won't even do their due diligence and see if the Rx was in the system? Now come January 2022, my primary care physician asked me if I'm still taking the meds because they are expired in the system, which proved that they never sent in my Rx. Super frustrating that I had to be my own advocate when I'm paying their team to help me. Retook my labs again and her team never reached out. I will never go back to this doctor again.

this "doctor" is a complete and total anti american psychopath. I urge anyone to stay away from her if you don't want to be a victim of her malpractice. she's very racist/biased, and incompetent with administering medication.

If I could give this lady zero stars I would She clearly doesn’t know how to practice preventative medicine in the US Takes Medicaid just to bill and make up stories Will be reporting her She is clearly biased , I was told I could only be helped if I wanted to conceive This isn’t 1950 Many women need help, and have a purpose in life other than to have children!!

After many months with this Dr she did not help at all and was not interested in figuring out my situation. I never even received an actual final visit with her, just got a short email saying she wasn't sure what to do basically. I've since gotten a second opinion from another endocrinologist who reaffirmed that Dr shafqat was not doing a good job and with one visit with the new Dr we are much closer to figuring out and treating my situation than after 6 months with Dr shafqat
