Dr. James Varrell is an excellent psychiatrist who listens carefully to his clients. He provides treatment recommendations and supports that are clearly driven to assist each individual’s needs. He has successfully proven ability in decreasing and at times eliminating suffering associated with my loved ones neurological care needs. Dr. Varrell has remained dedicated to assuring my love one lives a life with much less daily suffering. A genuine caring professional and person.

Dr. James Varrell treats my 16 y/o son for Paranoid Schizophrenia. Having worked with many psychiatrists over the past several years I can unequivocally state that Dr. Varrell is the most caring and knowledgeable doctor we have seen. He is a very talented man and cares deeply for his patients. He listens. If you or your child need help, you should not hesitate to contact him.

Dr Varrell seems to care more about making money than helping the child and family to heal. beyond difficult to schedule an appointment, unreliable and his secretary rude. help your child by finding a different doctor

Dr. Varrell is an expert when it comes to working with kids with developmental disabilities. He can be difficult to schedule with because of his other roles as medical director , but does offer some appointments through telehealth which can make it easier.

Dr. Varrell is a well known child and adolescent psychiatrist who also practices telepsychiatry. He is a busy man so it is difficult to get an appointment but he knows his stuff particualrly around autism.

I spoke with Dr. Varrell as he was the third tier of on call providers (the first two never responded to the answering service pages and he was next in line). My sons provider made a mistake with a prescription and Dr Varrell was very rude and not apologetic at all. "It wasn't my mistake, what do you want ME to do?". I felt as though I wasn't taken seriously, and he talked down to me. I don't want to jump to conclusions but his tone suggested I was just a silly woman who was being unreasonable. He was clearly out somewhere because it sounded like a party was going on behind him, he didn't even have the courtesy to step into a quiet place to make the call. Very, very rude.
