Peter R. Weiner's Online Review Report Card

DR WEINER is brilliant Doctor in his field, he treated me few times at St Barnabas Hospital.

I recently was sent back to the ER by my ortho due to traumatic bursitis and cellulitis. I went to St. Barnabas the second go around and was seen immediately in the emergency room. They were prompt, informative and helpful in the ER. I was admitted within being in the emergency room. I was assigned Dr. Peter Weiner as my infectious disease doctor. When Dr. Weiner saw me, he immediately dismissed anything that I said and told me it was a “bad bruise” despite a previous diagnosis from another hospital, my primary dr., and an outside orthopedic. Mr. Weiner only saw me for 5 minutes (when I was admitted in the ER) in the whole time that I was admitted into the hospital. He told me that I would be receiving extra strength Motrin and would not be continuing with antibiotics (which I had been prescribed outside to help with the infection and IV antibiotics when I entered the E.R.) I explained to him that I would be able to do that at home and the reason that I came was because my ortho told me to immediately return because I shouldn’t have been discharged as quickly as I was the first time (different hospital). He then responded that the only other thing to do would be an MRI and that “wouldn’t show anything”. I reiterated that I would prefer to go home. He told me to stay and that I would be getting an MRI because he would feel “comfortable knowing that everything is fully cleared”. This is now Friday afternoon. I never saw him again. I was told I would be receiving the MRI the next day which Dr. Weiner scheduled. On Saturday, the nurse told me I would be getting it some point today. I never received the MRI on Saturday. Now, I have been sitting in the hospital. Not one DR or nurse has explained to me what was going on. On Sunday morning, I followed up with the nurse about the MRI. The nurse’s response was, “There was a system screw up and you will be getting an MRI this afternoon”. Within an hour, it was chaos and constant back and forth blaming. I was told by the nurse that my MRI was canceled, and I was being discharged. Mr. Weiner, who apparently “wasn’t at the hospital on Sunday” said that it was the hospitals decision to cancel the MRI and discharge me. St. Barnabas, who I have filed a formal complaint with also told me that Dr. Weiner was absolutely the one who discharged me. Dr. Weiner was completely inactive in my treatment in which he was the one to tell me to stay and receive the MRI. I saw him for a total of five minutes on Friday. I’m telling my story to help you avoid yours. Please avoid this doctor at all costs. He will shift the blame, speak to you like you are dense and stupid, and flat out lie when caught. It is beyond unacceptable and an extremely disgusting situation that I was put in.

I was admitted to St. Barnabus (who were just as awful as Mr. Wiener, I would call him doctor but I only saw him for the first 5 minutes of my stay) for an elbow issue. I was sent IMMEDIATELY to the hospital by my orthopedic for IV Anitbiotics. Once at the hospital I was told I was being admitted. Mr. Wiener told he is was basically a bad bruise, it was actually traumatic bursitis and cellulitis. As I said before, Mr. Wiener saw me for five minutes on Friday to tell me the treatment plan was NOT IV Antibiotics but rather extra strength Motrin. I told him I could do that at home. He said the only other thing to do would be an MRI, which he said "wouldn't even show anything". I reiterated that I wold rather go home. He said to stay and get the MRI because he would "feel comfortable knowing that everything is fully cleared". I did not see him again. I stayed in the hospital waiting for an MRI, which I had to ask about. It took until Sunday for a nurse to tell me (after I asked again about the MRI) that there was a "system screw-up and you will get the MRI Sunday afternoon). STILL HAVE NOT SEEN A DOCTOR SINCE FRIDAY AT AT 2pm. The nurse came back to me at noon on Sunday and told me that the doctor has decided to cancel the MRI (that I stayed the entire weekend for) and that I was being discharged. I should stress here that I STILL HAD NOT SEEN A DOCTOR. From there it was simply chaos and blame shifting. Mr. Wiener, who was not even in the hospital on Sunday, said it was "the hospitals decision". The hospital, who I have filed a formal complaint against too (I filed one against Mr. Wiener as well) told me that Mr. Wiener was absolutely the one that discharged me. Mr. Wiener was wildly inactive for my treatment that he told me to stay to receive. I saw him for 10 total minutes, all at the beginning of my 2.5 day stay at St. Barnabus. AVOID THIS DOCTOR AT ALL COSTS> HE WILL SHIFT THE BLAME, TALK TO YOU LIKE YOU ARE DENSE, AND FLAT OUT LIE WHEN CAUGHT IS A CLEARLY UNACCEPTABLE SITUATION. DISGUSTING AND AWFUL.

THIS DUDE REJECTED MY CHARITY CARE TWICE. PRIOR TO TELLING ME I HELPED TAKE CARE OF HIS AILING WIFE. WHAT A D*#K.
