The physicians and nursing staff are the top of the line and as good as you could ever find anywhere in the country. Something is horribly wrong however with the infusion department for cancer treatment. Today my infusion began two hours and nine minutes after I checked in. I usually have to wait at least an hour and sometimes an hour and a half for the beginning of chemotherapy. Infusion and chemotherapy are never a fun experience but these extraordinary waits make the experience almost intolerable. Nobody seems to care about fixing this continuing problem.

I transferred from a hospital in New York City to RWJ Hospital and I thank God I did. The Doctors are so involve in my medical care, to the Patient Ambassador Rashida who is always there to help me with a warm and pleasant manner when I come to CINJ.

RWJ Cancer Institute for Radiation Therapy Not Patient Friendly I recently had radiation therapy for prostate cancer. I am severely incontinent. RWJ Radiation Oncology place has no concern about patients who are not able to hold the urge when the urinary bladder if full. Their time schedule and time estimates are not at all efficient. There are many days when after telling me to drink water to make bladder full they do not start therapy on time and I have to void and start the whole process again. On several occasions, I had to drink, hold, void cycle 3-4 times because I could no longer hold the urge as the techs kept me waiting and waiting. This facility has different techs every day and they change several times during the day; that may be fine. But, different techs taking care of just one patient for a 10 minute therapy means that no one really knows patient specific needs. I would avoid this place for radiation therapy for prostate cancer.

Not very well managed. Since it gets funding from the State, it's like a government hospital. Long waits (even if have appointment, have to wait for hours), frequent changes in appointments, inadequately trained staff (perhaps because of government's equity requirements), systems not updated in a timely manner, and unresponsiveness of people who work there (a sort of don't care attitude).

We always see dr. Hochster here for deciding all care, but everyone speaks very highly of him. I strongly recommend him for patients that intend to fight metastatic colon cancer. We do infusion after office meetings and the nurses are usually very experienced. However if you are worried about what your nurse does, voice your concerns. They are used to chemo brain patients, and will not take offense. The only low point is their computer system,, but it is tolerable. Their computer system epic is new and unfortunately not working very well for patients. Hopefully they solve it soon because it still lists the wrong cancer 2 months later. The patient is female, but listing her for prostate cancer makes me want to wince.

Nothing stood out during our visit at this facility. Get a second opinion at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Surely a longer drive and the cost of tolls and parking in Manhattan shouldn’t matter when it comes to your life and health.

Nursing staff (Lynn) is rude, lacks empathy and will prevent you from reaching your doctor until your on your death bed. You’re better off anywhere else really

First of all. Very hard to reach out to the doctor for the results, when I got there for appointment after 45 min drive, was told dr had emergency and they tried to call and left message but it was not done, I never received call.

They overbook and you end up seeing a PA.They see a large volume of patients and there is no personalized care.

My appointment With Dr Kumar was amazing not only does she take the time to explain everything she talks to you with compassion she makes you feel like she actually cares She was my second opinion & Now my first Choice Thank you for taking the time for every patient You will have a wait but its worth it remember what she is giving to you she also gives to her other patients !
